Very very light weight drill with heavy duty attitude. Wow. This is my go to drill now. I use this about 5-6 hrs outta 8 most days.

I have the subcompact makita and it is more compact and more ergonomic it also seems to outperform the ridgid. That being said it is a good little drill a will get most light jobs done.

I already have a RIDGID vacuum that I have enjoyed for many years. I purchased this RIDGID 18-Volt Brushless SubCompact Cordless 1/2 in. Drill Driver Kit with (2) 2.0 Ah Batteries, Charger and Bag last month mainly because of the Lifetime Warranty. Now that I have used it, I love the compact size, the placement of the light and how the light stays on a little longer after you let go of the trigger. This tool is a workhorse! It has plenty of power, it is perfectly balanced, lightweight and easy to handle. I purchased this as a backup and/or drill so I would not have to take time to change bits from drilling to screwing and finish my projects quicker. I use the screwing more than I do drilling. Now this RIDGID tool is my go-to tool that I use for screwing and my other brand driver is used for drilling. The only CON I have is that I wish the bag had dividers to separate the tool from the extra battery, charger and extra bits. I will make some myself. I always keep my tools in the bag they came in; because, I like to keep my stuff clean and new looking. I am afraid the lack of dividers will scratch the tool and accessories. I am sure I will be buying more RIDGID tools in the future! Because of its lightweight, size and bright light, this Drill Driver Kit exceeded my expectations.

Haven’t had the chance to try out all the features yet…. but love the weight (I have older hands and need light weight).

I am very impressed with the Rigid 18V subcompact drill. The drill comes with a nice storage case. 2 batteries and a charger are also included, and can easily all be stored in the case. The batteries charge quickly and last a long time. The batteries have a light-up indicator on them that lets you see how much battery power they have left in them. The drill has a good amount of power and can fit in tight spaces. It has a 24 position clutch ring to adjust your torque and a built-in LED light to help illuminate your work site. I would definitely recommend this drill.

A relatively compact 1/2” drill driver – weighing only 3.0 lbs with the included 2 Ah battery. This has plenty of power and has dual speed settings finely controlled by the variable speed trigger. The speed can ramp up very slowly – at speed setting 1 it starts about 18 rpm (0.3 revs per second) – very slow – maybe not usable, but it provides any control you would ever need.An LED points up from the front of the handle base and the battery power indicator is located in front of the battery. The two position speed control is located on top of the body housing. 23 driver clutch settings and a drill position are provided on the rotating dial at the base of the rubberized chuck. See photo. I have a compact 3/8” drill that I use all the time (only weights 2.5 lbs), but I needed a compact 1/2” drill for the occasional larger drill sizes. I initially didn’t want to add another battery line to my cordless tools but the product description shows this drill to have a length of only 6.17” – sounded perfect – well, it turned out to be false – the 6.17” is to the face of the chuck body, not to the tip of the jaws – in reality its 6.68” long – see photo – its not bad, but not what’s advertised. The body width is very compact at only 2.23″.The charging wire from the battery block to the charger is not adequate for garage/shop use – see photo. The cord is going to end up twisted and frayed – but I guess its no big deal if you like don’t mind dealing with warranty claims, Ridgid has a lifetime service agreementThe 2Ah batteries provided are compact in length – see photo. This set comes in a nice zip up case, but there are no internal dividers nor hook & loop straps. A belt clip is also included which can be attached to either the right or left side. They also include a double ended driver bit and bit holder, the holder can be attached to the side opposite the belt clip using the provided threaded attachment point (see photo).

I own several Rigid 18v tools and am pleased with all of them. The little drill driver is no exception.

This drill is so easy to use and even though it’s small (which I like) it’s powerful. The battery charge lasts a long time then the second battery comes in handy. One reason I purchased is because Ridgid gives a lifetime warranty on both the drill and batteries.

I’m very impressed with this drill for many reasons:First of all, it is compact and not heavy. I love it that I can use it with one hand and don’t have any trouble at all. I can fit it through small openings, specially when working with shelving, and it delivers. My hands are small and I’m able to grip the drill with no issues. Second, the battery will last. I was able to use for 4 hours straight with some time off in between and had no issues and still had some battery charge left. What is good about this package is that it comes with 2 batteries. It also will charge up the battery pretty fast. You can keep working while charging the other one. Third, it is very easy to remove battery and it doesn’t get stuck. The charger doesn’t take up space and very easy to use as well. Fourth, it comes with 2 speeds. It allows me to use in different jobs around the house. From setting up furniture to placing 30lbs shelves in studs. It is easy to maneuver from one setting to other. The only thing I would change would be where the light is set up. It really doesn’t give me a good focus so if it was placed on the top I think it would be better, but that is just personal preference. Now, what I find pretty awesome is that if you register your battery you can always exchange it at Home Depot. They will give you a new with no hassle. What else can I ask for.. pretty cool deal!

I love Ridgid Tools, but I am really excited that they came out with a new Subcompact line. This drill is small and will probably be my new go-too drill for all of my projects as it’s light and and really really small. They did offer a two speed setting on this which is nice, and will get most jobs done. The build is great, and the best part is that it will except any Ridgid 18v battery. Definitely a win, win for ridgid fans that are looking for a smaller, compact drill that will get the job done.

Drill seems to be working fine. Only issue that wasn’t explained well in instructions was the battery charging. Appears charger works.
