Grinder is a beast for a 18v power tool. But for big projects, gotta have extra batteries. Wouldn’t use anything smaller than 9ah battery.

Cordless convenience, but loses on the flip side in lack of power and added weight. Eats two 5hr batteries in ten minutes. Can’t make up my mind on whether it’s worth keeping or return for the money. Went out and bought a four inch corded grinder again.

If I said it once, I said it a million times Ridgid’s octane powered line is no joke! I love the dual battery feature able to run one or two batteries for longer run time. This tool will appeal to many including but not limited to Concrete guys, General contractors, Metal Fabricators, and even Automotive detailers. Power, speed, and runtime are its strengths. Balance, grip, and design make up its beauty. The handle has a multi-positional grip giving you the ultimate control and comfort. With its variable speed and removable positional guard, it provides you with an extra layer of protection from sparks and dust. The grinder itself is a tad heavy however I consider this to be an advantage giving you more weight behind the blade, for better cutting, buffing and grinding. I would say that this 7″ grinder is not to be used as a replacement to your 4″ grinder, but as an addition to your tool arsenal. It is a serious tool that has tremendous power, made for medium to heavy work. Overall I recommend one in every shop, when it comes time to use it you will be glad you have it.

Delivers the power of corded a bit heavy to handle but uses the weight to help do the job for you and when corded isn’t an option it will save the day optional two battery set up is a major plus and one battery can be used to lighten the load without any lack in performance

this is one power house grinder, it has a huge battery system and I have yet to run out of battery before I had to take a break and i was using it with the 7 inch knotted wire brush which uses a lot of juice. the handle will work on both left and right side as well as the top for using the cutoff blades if you need a super powerful professional quality grinder this is it..{and thanks for the breaking system Ridgid} it was nice not having to wait forever for the blade to stop. The grip is extra comfortable and the spark cover easily rotates with no tools necessary this is a beast with octane battery’s as well You can feel the power and torque when you hit the on button, be ready or it will twist in your hand.

An absolute monster that devours anything in its path. Doesn’t matter if its concrete or metal, this grinder absolutely owns it all.The grinder takes two OCTANE batteries, but will actually run with only one installed. The OCTANE batteries send more power to this grinder when its needed, so no issues at all trying to get though the toughest materials. The one thing that I love about the Ridgid grinders is that they have bases that twist to help keep you in the perfect ergonomic position. Now I don’t need to worry about twisting my wrists in awkward positions. I also love that you can attach the handle in three different positions (left, right or top of the grinder) The guard is really heavy duty metal, but its Lso very simple to rotate/adjust with the quick release button. The disc is also very simple to change out when needed. As for build, ridgid makes this grinder to hold up in any professional setting. The casing is really solid, and I love the grip that you can get because of the over molding. It’s also balanced very well, even with the two batteries in the back.At the end of the day, this grinder is an absolute beast that will go toe to toe with any other grinder on the market. Great job on this Ridgid!
