My old impact wore out so I bought a new octane branded one. Absolutely hated it. Found one of these older models and bought it instantly. Great tool at a good price. The octane is on reserve duty at the bottom of my toolbox.

This is an excellent powerful set of tools. Both the drill and impact driver can be used to drive hardware (lag screws 3/8 inch) into pressure treated wood (2 X 8, 4 X 4, 6 X 6 lumber). I used both tools all day and the battery moderating system never showed more than 1 light not illuminated signifying that 3/4 of the total power remained. Again an excellent tool that comes with two heavy duty 4 AMP/HR batteries.

This was a huge upgrade from my 15 year old 12v Makita. Like night and day. The feel and operation of the switches and the chuck seemed very sturdy and of professional grade. The drill/driver somewhat heavier but hasn’t been a problem so far with overhead use. Lots of torque. I don’t see any problem with the set handling any job. The included bag is useless. Overall, very happy with the set.

All my various Ridgid battery powered tools are first quality and I use them a lot.However the lifespan of my Ridgid batteries is worth at best a 3 Star. And when buying additional batteries the warranty is 3 Years instead of the free lifetime replacement when buying a tool / battery package.At least Ridgid could include the lifetime warranty on additional batteries purchased at the same time along with the tool / battery package.
