So far I am very impressed with this set. You can’t beat the light weight of these tools. The biggest turn down for me is on the screw gun. You have to have the screw gun engaged in order to use the light feature on the screw gun. I think Rigid had a better light response to the trigger on the older models. Other than that it is a great product!

This was one of two 5 tool bundles I bought from The Home Depot. A Makita XT505 and this RIDGID 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Brushless 5-Tool Combo Kit with (1) 2.0 Ah and (1) 4.0 Ah Battery, 18-Volt Charger, and Bag one. waiting to compare the two kits I watched and read all the specific tool reviews for each I could find. The Makita arrived and while I liked it very much The Rigid won out. Or at the $340.94 I paid for this package Rigid was a no brainier.I bought Rigids dual charger 2 battery kit and a few other 18v tools today as it is out with the old in with new. The LSA may be a bit of a work and time but anything worthwhile always is. I take care of my tools.If you don’t have time to do it right how can you find time to do it over. I’m not a fast as possible charge kind of guy. I know about Li-ion battery technology as I am also an electronics technician. Li-ion batteries have a flat discharge curve and when it starts to drop it’s all over. Pull a spare out of your bag and go back at it. If you are serious about Li-ions learn about what you have.The impact R86038 and drill/screw/hammer R86116 may not be top Rigid performers but the reciprocating and circular certainly are. See my photos for the exact models in this kit.In closing if Rigid stand behind what they engineer with a LSA. I am only sorry I didn’t get a dust extraction adapter possibility on my circular saw. I know how to add one tool that takes that into account if I really want it. Time will tell if I made the right choice.
