The Ridged tools and battery service has been excellent for over 10 years. Homeowner and DIY.

So far so good. I have only had it for a short time, but I like the way it handles and the features they have. True test will be over the long haul though.

Great power and speed control. I’ve only noticed one thing. I accidentally switched the direction button while working. My father has been using the set and also mentioned that he switched to reverse accidentally without me mentioning that to him. So I guess there was a change in the grip design that might have increased the ease of access to that button.

This is solely based on a size comparison and not on performance abilities. That will be determined later. Although, I did drive a few four-inch deck screws into some two by fours using the impact and experienced zero hesitation, stalls, or issues. There is definitely a big difference IMHO to the size, weight, and feel between the subcompacts and their larger predecessors. They almost appear toylike in stature, even the charger is reduced in size and mass. The 2.0 batteries that came with them almost look oversized when applied to the tool itself. I can see the benefits to the smaller stature in regards to tight spaces or when working overhead for an extended period of time. These will reduce the hanging weight on your tool belt for sure. Though I won’t get rid of my driver and impact until I know that these can perform up to par with them. Hope this helps and I may amend this later based on the performance capabilities.

trigger delay is annoying

I just got these tools. So far I’ve used the drill
Rhoda Hintz (verified owner) –
The drill is great because of its light weight and smaller size. The impact is also good, but my only complaint about it is that it has a delayed trigger response which can be annoying.

Use them for work. They pack a lot of power in a little package. All I need now is to buy the 1/2 drive high torque to complete my collection. Thinking about getting rid of my air tools. Rigid needs to come up with a ratchet to finish it off for Milwaukee.
Trudie Daugherty (verified owner) –
Nice, lightweight and gets the job done. Plenty of power.
Solon Kreiger (verified owner) –
Tools were well made and seems to be well made and durable. Compact size was nice and still had plenty of power.

Really nice set and a major upgrade from my old Ryobi 12v drill. The drill has a lot of settings and the impact driver has some serious power! The only thing that I don’t like is the battery fit, it’s wobbly when inserted. As far as battery life, the 2aH battery seems to hold a charge for a long time. I’m a homeowner/hobby woodworker so I’m not running them daily, but they still have 3/4 charge after 3 weeks.
