The included 3-layer pleated paper filter is designed to filter fine dust, drywall sanding and cold fireplace ash. Pair with the included High-Efficiency dust bags to capture small, dry messes while keeping the vacuum drum clean. Simply remove the bag and dispose for easy cleaning. The patented Qwik Lock filter fastening system allows the filter to easily snap on and off for cleaning and replacement.

Great bags, and I’m exceptionally fond of the vacuum that they go in (rigid propack) very handy for taking on jobsites, and running with the bag AND filter ensure no dust or debris escape. My only issue with the bags is I wish they were perforated better where the bag attaches to the vacuum so that the bag would be easier to install without the fear of ripping or otherwise destroying the bag. Getting the bag to tear right there where is is supposed to is quite tricky.

OEM replacement filter for my RIDGID shop vac. I have the 4.0 gallon model, and I keep forgetting to remove the filter when I vacuum up water, which gets this paper filter wet, and then dust really sticks to the filter when I’m dry vacuuming. But that’s my fault, not the filter. This replacement filter makes my shop vac work like new again.

So I have a small Ridgid WD40700 4 gallon vacuum. It’s used as a small shop dust collection, using a dust separator. I have the canister filter and the bag filter in place to cut down on any dust coming back into my shop. The bag has to wrap around the canister, making it a bit restricted. So IMO the fit could be improved a bit, to give more capacity of the bag.
