Expand your RIDGID wet dry vac’s versatility with the RIDGID Vacuum Pump. If you’re restoring a flooded basement, this is an ideal tool to eliminate water without transporting the vacuum up and down stairs. Install the pump on the drain port of the vac and secure a standard garden hose to the pump. Run the hose vertically and out a window for liquid disposal. The pump secures to any RIDGID vac with a drain and enables the wet/dry vacuum to pump 10 Gal. of water per minute up to 40 ft. H.

I use my wet/dry vac to finish draining the Jacuzzi. Before I got the pump accessory, I would have to lug the full vac to an area to empty it then co back and do it again. This got tiresome.When I saw the pump, I bought it. Now I attach a hose to the pump and… Done!The only this about the packaging it the statement “Works on every Rigid Vacuum. It doesn’t. The vacuum need to have a bottom drain port. My old vacuum didn’t have that so I had to buy anther vacuum.

The pump worked well. Basic physics, but I did not realize that you had to shut off the vacuum to run the pump, and vice-versa. I used it to get the last 100 gallons or so of water out of my swimming pool. If the had some sort of check valve to allow continuous use, it would be fantastic. It sure beat lifting the vac four feet out of the pool to dump the water.

Additionally gaskets were required to connect to standard garden hose; otherwise water sprays out around garden hose because RIDGID doesn’t connect to garden hose correctly.

Pump worked best when I alternated between the vacuum and the pump, never both on at the same time. In other words, fill the canister first and then activate the pump. The manual was not clear in this regard.

What a great idea. I have a basement that leaks and have to empty the shop vac constantly. I attached this to a hose and ran a piece of pvc outside so all I have to do is turn on the power. Great option for moving water out.
