I purchased the Ridgid 4 gallon shop vac. w/ attachments. I also bought an additional round brush that I thought I could use but it is too large for the hose attachment so I have to return. I used this product for cleaning my pellet stove and also cleaning all the pine needles that have been tracked in from outside. It has great suction and is a wonderful item to own. I look forward to using it to clean our cars interior as well. I definately recommend this Ridgid shop vacuum.

Bought two if these over Christmas. One for myself and the other for my son in law. Nice and light. Long cord. Great power. Only two problems. It’s loud. But worse than that. The opening where theair is vented out to blows right towards where you vacuum. Someone wasn’t on the game with that. So, probably an after the fact, Ridgid sells part VT 2525. It’s a Muffler/Diffuser. You need this part and it will cost at least $13. My opinion is Ridgid should include it in the box.

Pros: Compact, powerful. Plenty of pick-up power. Fairly quiet – I have an older Rigid 8 gal and this unit is not as loud (you can get a muffler for it as well). Great for getting into the tighter spots in home/car. Light enough to carry around easily. Con: I don’t care for the locking mechanism on the hoses, they are a little time-consuming to get right and I don’t see the need, but I guess it’ll be a little easier to pull around by the hose (I could see it for the larger vacs on bigger job sites). Most of the hose accessories do not store ‘on-board’ either, so there’s that too. Works well for small job clean ups; sawdust, sanding projects, etc., around the shop or garage. Using this one for a few weeks now. Would recommend – my much older Rigid shop vac still going strong after many years (both new hoses also fit my older model vac perfectly). This unit also appears to be of solid construction – and I believe Emerson is still making the vac motors. Don’ think you can beat it for the price.
