The Rockwell 4-1/2” Compact Circular Saw is an effective and hassle-free replacement for a traditional circ saw. Just grab it and go when you need to make some quick rip or plunge cuts—no need to lug out the bulky full-size saw. Even though it has the functionality to handle all sorts of projects, this saw was made for 2” lumber, cutting 2x4s in a single pass. Its lightweight design (only 5 lbs) allows for better control of the tool so you can operate it with just one hand. And it makes overhead cutting much more of a possibility than with a full-size saw. The grip is comfortable to use for extended periods. And the smaller blade allows the 5-amp motor to spin it up to 3,500 rpm, achieving the speeds of much larger saws while putting less strain on the motor for more efficient energy usage and increased life of the tool. The easy to access depth adjustment lever allows for a maximum cutting depth of 1-11/16” at 90°. While the bevel lever lets you make the most common angled cuts from 0-45, with a maximum cutting depth of 1-1/8” on those cuts. Again, this saw excels at 2x4s, but is also awesome on plywood, hardwood flooring, pegboard, dowels, molding and more. Comes with one 24T TCT blade, a parallel guide, vacuum adapter, and blade key.

Bought two of these for Christmas gifts. While they haven’t been used yet – they were “very enthusiastically” received. I know that they will get plenty of use!

Very happy with this saw. Powerful enough for most small jobs. Easy to use. Cuts smoothly. For the price, you can not go wrong.

Not bad need better blades

I love it. The bigger worm-drive saws are much too heavy for me to use all day. This is great!

Compact yet pack with much power. Although is a good idea to replace the safety plate screw because it does come loose with the vibration, you could replace that screw with a lock washer at any hardware store. Overall it is multi purpose tool.

So far have used on a few treated 2×4. No problems in cutting through. A bit noisy; I’ll will wear ear protection.

This is a great little handheld saw and it helped me demo a few things in hard to reach places in a bathroom. Sometimes the blade would get stuck and would either require me to back off and cut more slowly or tighten the blade set bolt.

enjoy Rockwell tools as a whole. as many reviewers stated the “double” trigger sucks! who’s idea was this? nobody that ever cut a board that’s for sure! Also, the 3/8″ arbor is very limiting. only wood cutting blades available. I did find a Dremel masonry blade that fit as I needed to install a counter flashing at at a roof-wall connection. as with all Dremel tools-just made for the desk top wood worker. All in all, i would rate this a 4-star.

Have the Versacut which has been great for many jobs, but not made for larger materials like 2×4. This saw takes care of that, and still gives great portability and usability.

got this saw as a gift, awesome. only thing missing is a dust collection bag. would be a lot easier than hooking up to a shop vac.

This saw is really well made and cuts incredibly well. I love the small size – it makes it really easy to guide for very precise cuts. I am so happy with his saw.

I purchased this for a siding job and it works great in open spaces, where the exterior of the house does not have other features that get in the way. cuts awesome.

Bought this for my husband. He really loves it but, he broke the Outer and Inner Lange Lock Bolt????? And you can’t find any place to get a new one. So, what good is the saw if you can’t find the replacement part for it.

Don’t let its size fool you. It has the same kickback as a 7-1/2” saw. Cuts thru 2x stock easily. Great for tight spots. My bigger saws get a lot of rest with this saw. Great for toolboxes too. The only minor thing I don’t like about it, is the trigger permissive button. It requires a little more thumb flex than I have to depress it to pull the trigger.

This saw is easy to use, light weight, and has plenty of power. Cutting thru 2×4’s is a snap. The only negative is that it can’t cut a 45 degree angle thru a 2×4. Other than that it’s a great little saw, for the price.

This is a great tool But I need to know where I can get the blades for it ???? Thanks

Once you remember to use some light pressure to release the safety it’s easy to use this is not your dad’s old heavy saw.

I wanted a saw that could handle smaller work than a 7 1/2 circular. I also don’t like to have to get the table saw or miter saw out just for small projects. This saw does both jobs for me. I can square up a 2x to sharp edges and cut 3/4 baltic playwood super clean. I just clamp my straight edge down and go since it behaves better than a 7 1/2 saw. I got on to buy another blade after a big fence repair project so I thought I should say a few nice words about it. The saw met my high expectations.

I AM 67 YEAR OLD FEMALE WITH ARTHRITIS IN MY HANDS AND THE ROCKWELL COMPACT CIRCULAR SAW IS SO EASY TO USE. I WAS AFRAID I WOULD HAVE TO GIVE UP DOING PROJECTS AROUND THE HOUSE. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS LITTLE BEAUTY.
