The Rockwell 4-1/2” Compact Circular Saw is an effective and hassle-free replacement for a traditional circ saw. Just grab it and go when you need to make some quick rip or plunge cuts—no need to lug out the bulky full-size saw. Even though it has the functionality to handle all sorts of projects, this saw was made for 2” lumber, cutting 2x4s in a single pass. Its lightweight design (only 5 lbs) allows for better control of the tool so you can operate it with just one hand. And it makes overhead cutting much more of a possibility than with a full-size saw. The grip is comfortable to use for extended periods. And the smaller blade allows the 5-amp motor to spin it up to 3,500 rpm, achieving the speeds of much larger saws while putting less strain on the motor for more efficient energy usage and increased life of the tool. The easy to access depth adjustment lever allows for a maximum cutting depth of 1-11/16” at 90°. While the bevel lever lets you make the most common angled cuts from 0-45, with a maximum cutting depth of 1-1/8” on those cuts. Again, this saw excels at 2x4s, but is also awesome on plywood, hardwood flooring, pegboard, dowels, molding and more. Comes with one 24T TCT blade, a parallel guide, vacuum adapter, and blade key.

bought my compact circular saw a year ago. I’m not real handy with carpentry which is why I bought it. it is lighter and easier to use than a full size circular

Bought this for a Christmas present for myself and had to open it early to do a job. Works great but is a little hard to operate being left handed, but as with all tools I muddle through.

I have this 4 1/2 saw for about 3 years now and cannot be happier. Bought as an alternative to having regular size saw, this little one did all the jobs and I still don’t need to buy a big saw. The supplied blade is OK, but I installed Diablo blade which makes cleaner cuts. Rockwell, please don’t discontinue this saw since when it breaks, I will buy another one.

I bought it for fitting into tight spaces and cutting 2×4

This saw is perfect! Power! Balance! Easy to use! Why would you ever want a conventional size circular saw? I personally am not cutting anything thicker than a 2×4 so this really checks all the boxes. If I had anything negative to say it would be that blades are not inexpensive.

Recently purchased this tool for a project in the attic. There’s not much room in the attic and I was tired of lugging around a heavy 7 1/4 inch saw. This lightweight gem was just what I needed. The laser guide works well, has plenty of power and the kit came with five extra blades.

I started with the purchase of Rockwells Sonicrafter and was so inpressed, as with great results I purchased several other products Rockwell produces over time and will purchase more. Their quality is second to none!!

Smaller and more compact than a full skill saw which gave me what I needed in close quarters situation. This little saw will also cut through a 2×4 which is convenient for those I don’t want to pull the big saws out project. I haven’t use this saw extensively so I cant review the longevityor long term durability but so far runs strong. Should be careful of the power which can kick back at you, but not enough power if binding, which any saw would bogg down. Keeping the cuts straight as possible should prevent most of these problems, if not back up some and recut till all is good. I’ll just have to see what other uses and can get this saw into.

I generally do not write bad reviews BUT , Although this saw is built very solid and powerful , it is almost impossible to see exactly where the cutting edge is when starting a cut . something very important for presision work .I’m sure you will find a cure ! a loyal customer .

I bought mine about two weeks ago. Recently bought an old, old house that is a fixer upper. I have been putting in some new cabinets and a closet upstairs and this has made it so much easier to get the job done. Have lots of trim, cabinets and smaller jobs that need to be done right there, instead of running to basement or outside to cut pieces. It is the perfect size for smaller jobs, haven’t had any issues with it. In fact I just bought another one to give my son.

Light weight and powerful enough for panels, plywood and clean dry studs. Stalls easily if bound however. Easy to handle with traditionally placed controls like a full size worm drive. Red safety button is awkward , Annoying unnecessary and impossible with gloves. Overall worth the bucks for small jobs. Liked it better than the P-C model.

Perfect for those jobs where a big circular saw is to big and a battery tool isn’t powerful enough!
