The Rockwell 4-1/2” Compact Circular Saw is an effective and hassle-free replacement for a traditional circ saw. Just grab it and go when you need to make some quick rip or plunge cuts—no need to lug out the bulky full-size saw. Even though it has the functionality to handle all sorts of projects, this saw was made for 2” lumber, cutting 2x4s in a single pass. Its lightweight design (only 5 lbs) allows for better control of the tool so you can operate it with just one hand. And it makes overhead cutting much more of a possibility than with a full-size saw. The grip is comfortable to use for extended periods. And the smaller blade allows the 5-amp motor to spin it up to 3,500 rpm, achieving the speeds of much larger saws while putting less strain on the motor for more efficient energy usage and increased life of the tool. The easy to access depth adjustment lever allows for a maximum cutting depth of 1-11/16” at 90°. While the bevel lever lets you make the most common angled cuts from 0-45, with a maximum cutting depth of 1-1/8” on those cuts. Again, this saw excels at 2x4s, but is also awesome on plywood, hardwood flooring, pegboard, dowels, molding and more. Comes with one 24T TCT blade, a parallel guide, vacuum adapter, and blade key.

I purchased this item some time in May to do some work around my deck. It was a great help in cutting boards to the measurements that I need. It was difficult to cut boards that are already in place. The only downside is that both hands are needed to simultaneously press safety button and power button. Overall, I’m quite satisfied with it!

I bought for the dismantle of old staircase. She ripped through it no problems then decided to use to build new staircase. Lightweight powerful just kept wanting more. Awesome

this is a great little saw for people like myself who find the traditional circular saw cumbersome. The only flaw I see is the same one others have commented on, and it is the position of the safety button when turning the thing on. I am a short, 78-year-old lady, and my hand is just not big enough for using both buttons at the same time. I find that if I press the button and get the thing going and then positioning for sawing, it works pretty good, though. It is a great tool for cutting the bigger boards. Have even used it to cut thin strips from boards and find it pretty easy to saw in a straight line!

There is only one thing I don’t like about this saw. I agree with the reviews that criticize the placement of the lock-off button. My hands/fingers are too small to hold the tool and push the lock-off button with the thumb I am holding the tool with. I find that I have to use my other hand to press the lock-off button and then press the start trigger with the hand I am holding the saw with. I am thinking that I shouldn’t have to use two hands just to get the saw to operate. Otherwise the saw works pretty good.

Easy to handle, good balance, easy to line up cuts, smooth cutting action. Perfect for small to medium jobs. Very good for someone who might not be comfortable with using a full-size circular saw.

This saw is really well made and cuts incredibly well. I love the small size – it makes it really easy to guide for very precise cuts. I am so happy with his saw.

Handy saw for quick cutoff and other small rough cuts. With a bit of set up, you can make fairly accurate cuts. Blade is not perpendicular to the base so a square edge is difficult to obtain. Gets really hot while operating. Good quality overall. Decent price. Overall, happy with it.

Expectations met. Made my project go so smooth and fast with the right tool. Very easy to handle. It was my first time using a powered hand saw. I felt safe and comfortable using it. Will use the vacuum attachment next time.

I bought this saw for my husband. He absolutely loved it! He tells me it is easy to use and it does a pretty good job. He is now on the mission to build a table for the side of his BBQ grill.

I really like this product and have already put it to use. I did not give it a full 5-star rating because: it is hard and awkward to apply the side assisted start button. The back part of the saw, where the palm rests, is too bulbous, needs to be either set back more or made a little thinner for a more comfortable feel.
