The Rockwell 4-1/2” Compact Circular Saw is an effective and hassle-free replacement for a traditional circ saw. Just grab it and go when you need to make some quick rip or plunge cuts—no need to lug out the bulky full-size saw. Even though it has the functionality to handle all sorts of projects, this saw was made for 2” lumber, cutting 2x4s in a single pass. Its lightweight design (only 5 lbs) allows for better control of the tool so you can operate it with just one hand. And it makes overhead cutting much more of a possibility than with a full-size saw. The grip is comfortable to use for extended periods. And the smaller blade allows the 5-amp motor to spin it up to 3,500 rpm, achieving the speeds of much larger saws while putting less strain on the motor for more efficient energy usage and increased life of the tool. The easy to access depth adjustment lever allows for a maximum cutting depth of 1-11/16” at 90°. While the bevel lever lets you make the most common angled cuts from 0-45, with a maximum cutting depth of 1-1/8” on those cuts. Again, this saw excels at 2x4s, but is also awesome on plywood, hardwood flooring, pegboard, dowels, molding and more. Comes with one 24T TCT blade, a parallel guide, vacuum adapter, and blade key.

Light weight and powerful. Does the job of the bigger circular saws without the extreme weight. Easy to grip and use consistently. I do not know if the durability would last for very large job but for my purposes and I am almost 68, it is perfect. My first saw was stolen. I loved it so much I had to have another.

I’m a 73 year old woman who’s intimidated by saws. I love to build crafts and small furniture, with some home repair added in for good measure. So this saw is perfect for me. The way it is designed and constructed eliminates most of my saw anxiety. Well built, sturdy and easy to use.

Immediately put the saw to several tests. It is a serious performer. The heft and comfort of fit in the hand make this saw a dandy little machine with good power to boot. The only reason I dock it a star is the safety start button is slightly awkward for me. Very satisfied overall.

I bought the 4-1/2″ compact circular saw on line and was hoping for great features and attributes from Rockwell. The first attributes was the blade guard ease of mounting and use when cutting; Safety first! the second was the sturdy case and ease of a ergonomic grip; Second part of safe use. The third wonderful feature is the ease of changing the blades which is essential for efficient use in the field. Lastly was the quietness compared to the other vendor’s saw I had. Noise is a hazard and also a hindrance to running the saw safely with other in the area.

Got this guy for christmas a few years ago. It’s my go-to saw for most projects now… Haven’t yet tried to get a metal blade and some sheet cut, but I have no doubt it’d do it…
