RYOBI introduces the 1/2 in. Multi-Chuck Key. This is a great replacement if the key for a drill’s chuck is lost. With the multiple pilot sizes, this will fit most drills. The functionality of the Multi-Chuck Key is improved with its durable, full metal construction with black oxide coating for increased life. The triangle design helps to increase torque while securing a bit into the drill chuck.

My 1/2″ drill is a beast. After 20+ years still in excellent condition, except for the chuck key. Its poor design did not provide for a secure grip when tightening or loosening the chuck. This often lead to the old key’s teeth slipping in the drill’s chuck, which eventually wore them to the point it was difficult to use at all. Fortunately… the teeth on drill’s chuck were still in great shape..I needed to replace it, but wanted a key that was more ergonomic, providing a really tight connection. The Ryobi 1/2″ Multi-chuck Key is exactly what I was looking for. The triangular shape allows you to tightly grip the two unused heads in your palm with the third protruding between your fingers, applying force in the proper direction.Note that while I am a royal Ryobi tool owner/user, this key was purchased for a Craftsman 1/2″ corded drill. In other words… this key is NOT just for Ryobi tools. Anyone needing a new 1/2″ chuck key should consider this.
