Had to drill a 2″ hole through some 4×4’s. A hole saw was too short and couldn’t find a spade bit largerthan 1-1/2″ so I bought this set for the 2″ bit. It worked great.

I’m guessing the folks who give this a negative review are trying to use these bits with a drill by hand and not a drill press for which it is intended. I also have the Ryobi drill press and I’m cutting holes through very hard wood to 1-3/8″ with no issues at all. I’m cutting hard maple, purple heart, black walnut and cherry. Zero issues so far and couldn’t be happier with the purchase

I read reviews on several other sets of Forstner bits. Other than Freud bits, which cost a fortune, no other set gets high marks. I am an accomplished woodworker and find these bits fine for someone who won’t be using them in a production environment. They cut clean holes and plenty fast in softwoods. Some minor burrs on inner surfaces but overall a good value. I would generally rate Ryobi as an average product but pleased with these. Looked at individual Diablo bits at HD and found them identical in appearance to these. Purchased these because I already had a set up to 1″ and glad I didn’t have to duplicate sizes like most sets would have required.
