These Forstner bits were just what I needed for occasional boring in hardwoods and softwoods when I need a perfectly round hole with a flat bottom or bored through. I still feel like they were a good deal, for a great starter set. I have used them on pine so far, and they held up okay, but could see them struggling through hardwoods.
