Works well but is underpowered.

The grinder works great. Being able to turn the handle when using a cutting wheel makes it very easy to use.

just what i expected !

I have used the grinder once now. Seems like it will serve its purpose. It is heavy. I wish it had a trigger on lock like my Bosch 4 1/2 inch. I do really like the ability to change the position of the handle.

Great buffer for the money, I’ve put about 10 hours on it so far and no problems at all !

Did a great job resurfacing a large double garage concrete floor

Excellent, glad I made this choice. After reviewing so many, came across this little gem..

It wasn’t powerful enough for my needs — as I grind down canoe paddle blades daily. But for most people, I think it would be fine. I just needed something a bit more rugged and powerful. As I recall, the on/off switch was pretty wimpy also, which would apply to anyone using it, not just me.

Works as designed should have bought this years ago lol

Instructions state not to be used for cutting, which made me think twice. But after reading reviews, I went ahead with a 4.5″ cutting wheel and it worked fine. Just takes some tinkering with the flanges, but worked fine and had adequate power.

Used for buffing headlights, sharpen axe head and cut Mason bricks building a retaining wall. There is a lag to get up to speed maybe 2 seconds but not a big deal in my book. The swivel head is a nice feature

Needed a quick buy that wasn’t going to break the bank for an angle grinder and went on a limb and tried this ryobi one. Let’s just say I was impressed, it had the power I needed to cut all of the bolts off flush and it did it all without skipping a beat. Finished way faster than that old ratty one I had before. This is a great tool and would recommend!

I returned this grinder because the maximum speed is too slow. I liked the variable speed motor and the rotating handle but not the 6,500 rpm speed. Other 7” grinders that are single speed have a 8,000-8,500 rpm speed and this one has a 6,500 rpm speed. It makes a big difference when compared to a 4-1/2” grinder that has a 10,000 rpm speed. My main need for it is to sharpen lawn mower blades and I hoped that a bigger grinder would make the job go faster. I’ll continue to use the 4-1/2” grinders.

RPM can go between about 1800 and 6800. Includes a rubber backing wheel, grinding wheel, buffing wheel, and a bag instead of a clumsy hard-case. Has a soft start function. Some grinders have a rotating tab that binds and makes the trigger hard to pull. This does not have that enraging issue This is an excellent tool to use with scotch brite XT wheels because it doesn’t spin so fast that you heat up the work surface, or shoot pieces of the wheel into your belly. Wire brushes are great too. You can cut stainless without raising a big burr the way a chop saw does. For stripping scale/dirt/rust from car frames, this doesn’t kick up so much dust. Let the weight work for you. I’ve had older metal ones that are a lot heavier. This is a lovely machine!

The order was managed promptly and shipped within a few day. This grinder is very sturdy and well made. I used it to grind down some quartz edges in a project and it worked well. The variable speed is really a nice feature. Good tool to have around.
