If you need to chew through some wood before finish sanding this is a little beast. The belt tracks after awhile but it is easily remedied. Some tools I would rather have corded and this is one of them. For the value this is a great tool.

Meh. I dunno. I guess this is what a 6 amp sander does. I wanted to clean up a small deck a little bit before painting, but even with the 36 grit belt, it had trouble going through the paint. Somehow in my mind, I imagine a belt sander being a powerful tool – the mother of all sanders. But this is pretty similar to my disc sander. It’s pretty useless for my purposes, but I gave it 3 stars because maybe it might be okay in other applications.

This is my first belt sander. I found the belt did wander a bit during use and needed to be adjusted from time to time. Otherwise the sander performed well.

I used this to sand a deck and railing before staining. It got the job done, but it was a little tricky to calibrate so that the sanding belt doesn’t slip to one side or the other. Even when I got it calibrated, it would suddenly begin slipping again. I probably won’t use it again for a few years, so I’m OK with the purchase since it’s not expensive. But I wouldn’t buy it for regular use.

Sanded my 20×25 cedar deck twice (coarse and fine), using a mouse sander for edges. Sometimes the path that sucks dust into the bag gets blocked but just used a small air mattress fan you blow them out. Very happy with this purchase.
