I can’t complain about the price. At first I was worried because the belt was not running on center. But there’s a grey adjustment knob that you turn clockwise if the belt is running outward, or counterclockwise if the belt is running inward. Now, all is well. I don’t think these sanders are “calibrated” at the factory, so you may have to make this adjustment.

Ive used this belt sander on various projects now and it’s gotten the job done. I use it to clean up wood, shave down sides and on resin products to get the initial sanding of excess resin off the project. It’s definitely a tough tool. The only downside in my opinion is that sometimes the sandpaper will shift and almost fall off the plate, which can make projects last longer because I have to keep resetting the sandpaper to the proper place.

I bought this tool to sand down my bar top before refinishing. Works just as I needed it to.

The price was decent but other than that not thrilled with the sander compared to belt sanders I’ve used in the past 30 years, I haven’t used one as slow as this one. There was one coarse sanding belt that came with the sander. I wanted a fine grit belt for the project I was working on. Unfortunately the store I bought this at had NO 18 in. belts to choose from. It did what I needed but is slower than I would have liked. It could at least have a variable speed selector like most decent power tools. The dust collector did not meet my expectations. I ended up connecting a vacuum hose to the exhaust port which helped with the dust collection.

The Ryobi belt sander did a terrific job with my wood surface. It took some practice and I didn’t expect how much this sander can remove with just a few passes. Very easy to replace the sand paper belt. Definitely recommend this sander for any beginners getting into woodworking.

I previously use my jack plane to smooth out planks for my project. The plane just tears out wood knots especially on cedar. First time I use this sander was way better than my plane. I use 80 grits and finish it with 120. From now on, my jack plane will be in my antique shelves forever.

Using it to flatten 2 ash slabs to make tables. Using 40 grit paper, it does a pretty good job on an incredibly hard wood. Would do an excellent job on a somewhat softer wood.

just got done making my coffee table and i worked great

Easy to use and worked well. One flaw is the dust bag was useless since the zipper would not open to empty the bag.

Very good for the price. I wanted to get a cordless but they were too bulky. This is just the right size for small to medium jobs, lots of power, easy to adjust and change belts.

This sander is fantastic, it will eat some wood if you want it to or create a smooth surface. It is easy to maintain and use.

It works great. So far no problems.

I bought this to refinish a kitchen table and chairs. It worked really well right out of the box and took off everything nice and quick. The only issue I had was the tracking would get a little off when I was using my really high grit belts. All the others worked great though.

At $65 this is an incredible value. I am sure a pro will need something better, but as a homeowner this was great for me. Tackled a really tough deck and had no issues with belt slipping or anything like that. It may not last forever, but I am very happy with the initial quality.
