RYOBI introduces the 2.5 Amp 9 in. Band Saw. The 2.5 Amp Band Saw is designed for a variety of woodworking applications. It features a blade tracking window and rack and pinion blade support adjustment system. The band saw is also equipped with built in dust collection port and reduced vibration as compared to other band saws on the market. Backed by the RYOBI 3-Year Manufacturer’s Warranty, the 2.5 Amp 9 in. Band Saw includes a saw table, a miter gauge, two hex keys, a washer, a table lock lever, and an operator’s manual.

This works okay, but the base is not flat and the housing is about 10 degrees off vertical. Some nine year old welder in China was ready for a potty break! It tracks okay, but have not tried it with narrow blades. Would have sent it back, but needed it right away and an 85 mile trip is too much hassle.

No damage to the carton or styrofoam packaging, but the base of the saw was warped askew, and needed to be malleted into a flat plane. Possibly a factory welding oversight? Once stabilized, the rest of the features worked well.

This was my first purchase of a band saw – very happy with it so far. Easily cut curves in 2×4 lumber, and easily cut delicate curves in thin plywood. Simple setup and easy to learn. Could make it even better if a dust bag was included!

Once you get the tension right it cuts straight/ no drifting. Works great for smaller projects. A little underpowered if you want to cut thick or strong woods but great for most small projects.

Bought this one because it was an open box discount. Decent tool but obviously don’t expect to be doing any precision straight cuts with it. The table is very flimsy and flexible and does not have a fence. That being said, it’s perfect for doing lots of light jobs and I’m still pretty happy with it as a starter bandsaw.
