RYOBI introduces the 2.5 Amp 9 in. Band Saw. The 2.5 Amp Band Saw is designed for a variety of woodworking applications. It features a blade tracking window and rack and pinion blade support adjustment system. The band saw is also equipped with built in dust collection port and reduced vibration as compared to other band saws on the market. Backed by the RYOBI 3-Year Manufacturer’s Warranty, the 2.5 Amp 9 in. Band Saw includes a saw table, a miter gauge, two hex keys, a washer, a table lock lever, and an operator’s manual.

Bought this at a great price heard that a band saw could take the place of a scroll saw. Put it together after watch a few YouTube videos (highly recommend prior). Assembled fairly easy and cuts really well. I can see the advantages over a scroll saw, however if you’re going to use this more than once a week I see outgrowing it and it’s capabilities really quickly. Dust collection is fair, not the greatest but if you’re using it that often you truly have to worry about dust collection then it’s time to upgrade. The 64” band saw blade really limits your choices to aftermarket saw blades, even the Ryobi site runs out with a fair consistency. Not a huge fan of the plastic housing or gears for the table and wish it had a larger table surface. For the hobbyist it’s a perfect addition to the workshop.

I do quite-a-bit of woodworking as a hobby and this saw is good value for its money. Yes things are a bit cheap on it but what do you want for $148.00. I’ve ripped and re-sawed 2X6 and 2X4 Pine, have milled 4 inch White birch logs with no problem. I’ve just completed a fence for resawing.

Never owned a bandsaw. Never used a bandsaw. Bought the 3 pack of blades sold in the store. This saw is not a 5hp Powermatic or Woodmizer sawmill, but it gets the job done. I’ve resawn 3″ thick mesquite, curves in kiln dried pecan and air dried walnut. This saw does exactly what it is designed to do…cut. I found the setup and blade changes really easy. The vaccum doesn’t eliminate every speck of dust but it gets most of it. There’s plenty of online video instruction about bandsaw setup and use that has been very helpful. Right now I don’t have room for a 300lb+, 14″ cutting beast and so far this one has done everything I needed it to do. The base was a little wonky (for no obvious reason) but some hammer and wedge encouragement straightened it out so I could bolt it down flat.
