This Ryobi drill press was not bad for the price when it is on sale. Things you need to be aware of before buying this drill press.1. You need to calibrate it after assemble it together. It was not accurate out of the box hence you need to calibrate….adjust x and y to 90 degree, laser, speed, etc2. The Quill is plastic (not metal like those $500 and up drill presses) and easy to break so you have to be careful when drilling hardwood or metal3. The depth meter is a joke. I modified it with a digital caliper4. Most of drill press tables are tiny (even the expensive ones). So buy an additional one or DIY like me if you want to drill bigger pieces. It will perform very accurate and satisfactory after all of the above are done.

Works better than I expected. Has a small issue and customer service sent the part out right away. The switches were minted crooked which I fixed. Overall works great and will go through 1/4 inch plate steel.

Needed to do a lot of drilling so I purchased the ryobi drill press. Laser was easy to set up for accuracy. Can setup in multiple speeds. Great purchase for the price.

It’s a very good product although it was tricky to assemble until I found some videos on the Internet, there were no assembly instructions with this Machine. Once assembled properly this drill press operates very smoothly.

Thing work awesome. People complaining it’s not working properly should be using tools..

I needed a drill press quick to finish a project and drill straight holes in 1/4” aluminum. My old one died and parts are not available. It was this or the HF place. I chose HD and the ryobi….I would say it is suitable for small wood and plastic. Speeds are too fast for drilling aluminum and metal in a home shop. (The spinning curls and bit life you know) Ymmv. I run presses slow. The light is okay, laser is nice, controls situated nicely. I admit to being a bit spoiled on larger presses. Castings are rough. You cannot drill 2” material with it as the bit would need to be pressed into the work to get that travel and then the bit wouldn’t exit. The table mechanism is really rough, it raises okay but very tough to lower it. You have to wiggle it and turn the handle. Flexes a lot.I needed it, so I used it. In retrospect I should have returned it and ordered a better drill press through Home Depot and waited a week for it to arrive at the store. The HD guy said he does not remember selling another one, so I guess no one uses drill presses any more.Relatively cheap, it was true and set up easy. Just don’t expect too much from it, I did.

This drill press is ideal for the small shop! I got it not knowing how it would work out but it’s really been great. If you have a home shop this is a great machine.

The drill press is good and suits my needs. However the manual and assembly instructions are the worst I have ever had to try and figure out. Ryobi needs to improve a great deal. I don’t understand why Ryobi can’t create good assembly manuals for most of their products. I also don’t understand why Ryobi can’t create videos showing how to assemble and use their products. This is especially true for this drill press and their band saw.

As a home workshop woodworker this Ryobi drill press hits the spot for features and affordability.

Works fine. The laser took some adjustments but it works fine too. Powerful enough, not super powerful. But it meets my needs for household and craft sort of work.

It was a gift for my son; he loves it!

The plastic pully slips on the belt. other wise works great.

the only point bad about this press was that the chuck key holder was real cheap plastic and broke the first time i put chuck on it. i took the holder off an and put a magnet in its place now its great ,

Little bit hard to assemble but works great.
