Make sure the box is glued shut. The sander weight is great and it works well.I returned the first detail sander. The thick pad the was coming loose on a corner because it was obviously used and restocked as new.When I returned home I realized the returned detail sander pad was tan and thicker. The pad on the brand new sander was white.This sander weighs much less than multitools that will make your hand numb fast. I was sick of multitools destroying hook and loop sandpaper, just 5 -10 minutes and the velcro sandpaper fails.Using the correct pressure and grit and it is working just fine so far.I have not changed sandpaper yet to give accurate details about the replacement paper sticking or not.This may help. Maybe not.Older instructions for self adhesive sandpaper for another sanding machine.Don’t force the sander or burn up the motor when doing this.Turn on the sander and sand on some scrap wood, the adhesive will become teeny bit warm and somewhat softer. Carefully peel off the used sandpaper.The noise level is good but ear plugs make it fun to use.

The sander is wonderful. It’s easy to use and handle. The adhesive paper lasts so much longer than the bigger sander I was using with the sheets sand paper. I needed to do the railings on our deck and it works perfectly

This detail sander works well but should have a hook and lock instead of sticky pad that I believe ruins the life of the pad leaving dust on the pad so it’s less likely to stick new pads as it gets dirty. I also don’t like that there is not a replacement pad for the cost of the tool. I did not find different grits of sanding pads at the Local Home Depot.
