I purchased the Air Grip Compact Laser Level a month ago and have used it for a few projects – Hanging cabinets, pictures and shelves. I chose it over the more expensive self-leveling models because of price considerations and that I will only use it occasionally. It is easy to use and takes a minutes or so to setup the level

The foam liner broke on first use while trying to stretch around tool. Doesn’t stick too well to stucco obviously.. or drywall.

After about 10 years, my previous laser level finally croaked, and I needed a new, reliable device to help me hang wall art and whatnot. I have orange peel textured walls, and after a little trial and error, I figured out how to get the device to adhere to the wall. After that, it was smooth sailing! Unfortunately, I left the device in my kid’s play room. The fabric that is required for the device to adhere to a textured wall is now missing, so the level has to be held in place by hand, which renders it useless for big jobs. If the company could find a more permanent solution for the device to suction to textured walls, this would be a product worth 5 stars. Now I have to figure out how to get a replacement fabric so my investment doesn’t go to waste.

This laser level works great on most surfaces. However, in my eyes there is one design flaw that I feel could be easily remedied. I think it would be much better if the laser light had a separate on/off switch from the vacuum. It seems that once the unit is stuck to the wall, it stays put once it is turned off. If you could turn the motor off while having the laser on, it would greatly improve the battery life. Just a thought
