The package received with “loosing parts” inside! When I opened the box, and this is what I found: the machine was well protected with pieces of hard-cardboard designed to hold it intact for shipping (that is good!); but there were three small boxes were “free” to move around! (not firmly packed!), and they are two batteries and the charger. When I opened those boxes, luckily the batteries and charger seemed to be in good shaped. When plugged to the charger, both batteries were charged as descriptions!. I had couple times testing the mower. It works as claimed! I am please with the order and would like to introduce this battery-operated Ryobi mower to friends. The reason of rating at four-star is packaging (I have an impression of the box used to pack this machine is not the right one, so the batteries & charger “add-on” with lack of packing materials!)tihon

Love this mower. I have a riding power to do most of my acre yard, but lots of places the rider cant go. This thing does well and is very light weight. My wife doesn’t even mind mowing and she can lift it also if need be. Bag is kind of small, but what do you want with a battery powered mower. Think its been mentioned but handles are very light weight, I am sure they will break eventually. I have had it 2 years mowing every week for about 8 months out of the year and its held up so far.

Came assembled ready to go. Does a fantastic job cutting my small yard, and is very light and maneuverable. Much easier than my old heavy gas mower. Storing it is very easy. No smell, no gas cans, no mess, and a small foot print. Not sure why I opted for the hybrid, but if I should need to plug it in, I could. If you have a small yard with lots of difficult to maneuver areas, this machine is perfect.

It did well on a flat lawn. Maneuvers easily. Starts easily. It cut rather talk grass without any problem. Ran for about 45 minutes with the two batteries in. I have no complaints I really like it.

Great little mower. Perfect for edging and all the tight spots my riding mower won’t fit into. Plus it uses the same batteries as a bunch of my other tools. Can’t believe how quiet it is. Highly recommend this mower.

I was getting tired of gas mowers’ maintenance so started looking for electric cordless. First one was the 20 Inch but because Ryobi was having issues with 5 amp spare battery supply I decided to wait. I am glad I did because my search eventually landed me onto this beauty of a Hybrid 16 inch mower. and since I already have the 18v “system” with 3 – 4 amp batteries I figured this would be the better option with the 2 – 4amp battery option. Also seeing the 16 inch and the 20 inch versions in the store helped get me the sense of the sizes. This 16 inch packs a punch, Small enough to store in my garage without taking up too much space and large enough to get the job done. Even hit a couple of rocks by accident but the mower kept going and no damage noticed. Easy Start no more pulling the strings! Using 5 – 4 amp batteries was just enough to mow down 1/4 acre 6 inch grass. first run at the highest height setting, second pass with a 3 inch pass. Lots of safety futures to prevent accidental operation and to turn the motor off to keep from over-heating. And the Hybrid option is perfect for that occasional time when the batteries don’t quite get you to the finish line.. just start the farthest away from the outlet and work your way in… then plug it in to finish when the batteries run out.Things to be aware of that I have run into issues are:- warm or hot days expect this mower to shut down often because of heat. suggest mowing when its cooler like early or late evening -It does operate better and longer on batteries then the plug, I think it has to do with the overheating. Plug provides a bit more power thus causing overheating on warm days where the batteries would operate a bit “softer” and cooler ( you can hear the difference) – Don’t mow on the lowest height setting (1) unless your lawn is near perfectly flat or you will bottom out and start mowing the dirt.- when the mower shuts off check the bag it is most likely full. -If the mower does keep shutting off and the bag is empty then it is probably due to safety cut off (heating) just wait for about 30 seconds then restart or perhaps find something else to do and give it more time. – the handle safety switch is a bit sensitive I have ran over small bumps and let he switch loose a tiny bit and off goes the mower.- the blade is not the best after 2 mows it looks like it needs a bit of sharpening/ shaping again.

I wish the battery lasted longer or faster to charge, and I wish the handles were more secured, but overall I love it

The device is great! Connecting it to a power-cord has no issues for me but when I’m using the battery option, i need to slant my lawn mower towards me in order to start up, if it’s just flat up, it won’t start at all. Overall, i really love it as i can use the battery on other Ryobi products

Its a fair tool if you heat batteries too much and overheat and not charge and make them defective so just take it slow and it will do just fine

Just what we wanted and needed for our small front and back lawn.

The 1st time used was not so good. Mower would keep turning off and hard to control. The next 2 times worked OK. Need to set a high cut level and have handles tight and dry grass. The battery lasted until done after the 1st time.

I needed a small lawnmower to cut down on the amount of time I was weedeating. This was the trick. I went from 1.5 hours of trim work to 30 minutes. The run time on the batteries sent with it is about 20-30 minutes.

Major problem was that when i received the delivery of mower was that someone had stolen one battery. Not happy about that Luckily I was able to use it with a cord since it wad a hybrid. But found the cord troublesome and mower was very heavy. I returned the mower for these 3 issues.

I have a small back yard that is difficult to mow with my large mower. The Ryobi One+ is just the right size. It is light weight, but can still do the job with ease. I would highly recommend it .

Great little mower for small to medium yards. We live in the city and purchased a small 16″ electric/corded mower for our small front and back yard. It worked well but dragging the cord around got tiring and I got to the point where I dreaded mowing the lawn – I spent as much time moving and avoiding the cord, and untangling/wrapping up the cord as I did mowing. Because it’s compact and lightweight (40lbs) it’s easy to maneuver and carry from front yard to back yard and down two flights of stairs. A full sized 20″ Ryobi (60lbs) while nice, is too heavy to carry and push up hills.Batteries: I timed how long the mower and batteries would last by walking with the mower back and forth until it quit – I got 22 minutes of run time (included 4 separate start ups), plenty for my four separate plots of grass. Height Setting: The lowest setting is too low for the grass, probably around 1.5in, the lowest I can go is setting 2. So this mower can provide very short grass if desired. The Cons I experienced:The handles you pull in and hold to keep the mower on/running are very sensitive. If you loosen your grip just a millimeter or two the mower shuts off. I find myself having to restart the mower a few times during my mowing. I now wrap a long strip of velcro around the grip to keep it tight against the handle when I mow.The batteries get hot enough after mowing that they will not charge right away, they must cool down first before they will charge – I’ll get the flashing orange light and the “Temperature delay” warning if I attempt to charge within 15 mins after mowing.
