Overall I’m pleased with this mower, my first electric. The fully charged batteries give about 30 minutes of run time. It is fine for a small yard. The bag doesn’t hold an awful lot. The 120V option is nice though I doubt I’ll ever use it. It’s light and can be carried with one hand by the top handle. I got it on sale at $299. The main reason I got this model over the 40V models is because of my collection of 18V Ryobi tools.

If you have a very small garden yard area this will work fine. Mower is small. Like that it’s a hybrid & extension cord can be used; however, even though I have a relatively small yard, I definitely needed more power. I suspect the 2 batteries wouldn’t last with my front & back yard needs. Would probably wind up mostly using the extension cord. It’s a Ryobi so I believe it’s probably a good little mower.

Way better then the 13in version… it’s light but heavy enough to keep straight lines. The bag holds a decent amount of cut grass and the batteries holdout long enough to cut both my front and back yard.

I find this machiny offers offeral good quality especially for the price. I wish it offered more running time on the batteries and was slightly lighter but apart from that worth recommending.

TL;DR: Great Mower decent power, decent battery life. good for small to medium yards. For those of you worried about battery life I can do my front and back yard on one set of fully charged batteries. Pro tip you can measure your yard using Google earth to figure out how much square footage you have. My front yard and backyard grass area combined is about 1600 sq. ft. I think this would be good to about 2500 sq. ft. on one charge. The batteries seem to take ~1 hour to charge so if you have two chargers it’s no big deal if you needed to recharge to finish (plus you can always grab the extension cord if you are really in a pinch). The unit takes about 2 second to start while holding the triggers on battery but starts in about .5 second when on a cord; this caused some confusion early on where I thought the batteries weren’t working. The quick adjustments for trim height are really nice, as are the folding locks for the push bar when storing. Seems to cut really well although I did have some trouble with very (VERY) long grass that choked the motor. This happened quite a bit early on as I tamed the forest back into a lawn during high summer, however once I got the grass down to o a reasonable mow height it wasn’t an issue. For the record, I had borrowed a neighbors gas mower and had the same problem with choking out the motor in the extreme grass.

Thoughtful design, very neat effect. My yard is pretty small and I can get the front and back done in a single charge. I’m glad I gave away the big, loud, heavy, space consuming, fossil fuel burning power mower. It was either the electric or one of those barrel-push manual mowers. I’m pretty pleased with the electric.

Easy to assemble, couldn’t find the start key, Ryobi quickly sent a new one at no charge.

Bought this to use in small areas where my riding mower couldn’t reach. Very pleased with the ease of use, and lIght weight. Handles frequently allow mower to shut off, took a little getting used to.

works very good on dry grass

Pros: Super quiet!!! Fast shutoff. Ease of adjusting cutting height. Just enough juice for my 1/4 acre lawn.Cons: Sensitive to grass height. Tight maneuverability can be a challenge (but it’s light enough to be manhandled safely)Overall: Exceptionally pleased with this mower!

Fine for a small yard. If you haven’t already bought the 18Volt batteries for other things, go with the 40 Volt. I’m surprised that it stays pretty clean if you cut dry grass! It is pretty quiet too!

Well this turned out to be a real surprise. Much better than I had hoped. I read many reviews and was skeptical about a battery operated lawnmower. Yes, the batteries only last about 20 minus, but you can get a lot done in 20 minutes. Then I put in my 2 drill batteries and got another 10 minutes. I was able to cut 3/4 of what needed to be cut and did the rest later, after the batteries recharged. You do have to let them cool first. DO NOT RINSE the underside of the mower after using. I found out the hard way. It wouldn’t start and I was worried that I had ruined the mower. Next morning it started right up. It’s much quieter than a gasoline mower. Now I don’t have to buy fuel or oil. The machine is very light and easy to push. Cuts really well and has multiple cutting heights. I haven’t used the bag yet cause I just needed it to mulch the lawn. I highly recommend this mower. I hope it holds out for a long time. Only time will tell.

Hybrid is a great idea for a mid-sized yard; electrical where you can reach, and save the batteries for the far corners. Mulching plug works well so no bagging required. Looking forward to using the batteries in other Ryobi tools.

Nice, light mower for small yards. Battery power is not strong enough for more than a light trim. Also, the safety button is sensitive or temperamental, so the mower randomly shuts off between passes (whether using batteries or a cord). It’s irritating to have to wait three to five seconds for the motor and blades to re-engage on every third pass.

Sounds like a “real” mower, mows like a real mower and doesn’t stink up the garage with gas fumes. Powerful batteries. Fun to use. Love the duel edger/trimmer we bought along with the mower. Easy to store and great color!!!
