I’ve had this lawnmower for three months and it is really simple and very efficient to use. Ignition is quick and power is sufficient to cut through a very thick lawn of five inches in height. Batteries last through a single cutting run which is satisfactory because the mower does a great job on the first run. However, there was a major problem when I received the shipment. The battery charger had a major factory defect and it was impossible to charge both batteries. So I had to run to the local Home Depot and purchase a charger, the overall cost of the purchase was well over four hundred dollars all said and done. I purchased the Home Depot three year warranty plan but got no paperwork sent to me after I purchased it. I am very satisfied with the mower but disappointed with the outcome of the battery charger and no paperwork on the warranty by Home Depot. I have been a loyal customer of Home Depot and hope to rectify this situation and hope they make good with the battery charger.

Batteries wont last for more than 30 min fully charged. Good for very small yards, not for uneven or slopes.

more powerful than I would have guessed with 18V batteries. The amperage draw with the extension cord is less than the corded, non-hybrid models (7 amps) which could be bad news for power but is great for managing extension cords, as lower gauge cords will work just fine, and power is still better than I would have thought, slightly better than on battery.

Does a great job of cutting the grass.

Perfect for my needs of a yard a few hundred square feet. Super light weight, no gas, pull start, or dragging around the cord (it does have an option to use a cord). It’s like using a vacuum cleaner. I can lift it with one hand. I’ve had the Ryobi One system for years and plan to buy the trimmer as well. Exactly as described. I hope this helps you

Works really well, and has the ability to use 110v for large areas. Like it a lot.

I would recommend this mower with the following qualifying comments. Using both batteries, fully charged, I was only able to mow for half an hour. Fortunately, I happen to have a second charger, so that I can charge 2 batteries at the same time. However, they take at least an hour to charge – AFTER they have cooled down (so, about 1.5 to 2 hours to charge). Also, the cord guide (for use when using alternative electric power supply) is too small to hold the gauge extension cord that was recommended.

This mower is perfect for our flat, 1/4 acre lot. It is easy to maneuver. This is my first self-propelled mower so the first time took some practice. I am very satisfied with the ease of adjusting wheel height and storing the unit

The mower worked flawlessly but the two batteries died with just two passes left to go. I have a average size yard on a .25 acre lot in a subdivision. Not big at all. I have two other 4AH batteries from other Ryobi tools like my weed whacker/edger, blower, chain saw and hedge trimmer combo. So I was able to use them to finish the lawn. Wish the cover would accomodate a 5 or 6 AH battery. That would make it 5 stars.

This mower did great for me. However, I am worried about the stress this mower puts on the batteries. The batteries get pretty hot and worried about this mower cooking the batteries over time will kill the batteries. As everyone said, wished they made a brushless version. Maybe reduce the stresss on the batteries. The lock mounts for the handles broke out of the box. All in all, I think this 18v mower is great for very light duty. No heavy grass cutting or risk destroying yoru batteries or have to go to corded power.Would be great if they made a 18v x2 to get 36 volt power. But I assume that will be cutting into their 40v line. I have yet to see any hybrid 40v tools. Would be best marriage of their higher power line of 40v and make them hybrid. Takes too long to charge up the 5ah batteries before resuming work again.

I wanted to go all out and get a real gas mower ie Honda. But for our needs this one takes the cake. Its known to kill batteries in just a few passes, but because its a hybrid I just stick to the extension cord and use the extra batteries it comes with for my tools. Other than that, quiet and light – Gets the job done.
