I had a different one before and it was bent so I got this one. It’s so much lighter and easier to use, so I really like this one plus you can add other tools to it which is a big plus.

I will say that I really enjoyed this trimmer. The best qualities are the ease of use and the weight. I find it easy to restring the feeder and I can edge my entire lawn without my back aching. I also didn’t have any problems putting it together. That being said, I was really disappointed in the life of the battery itself. I’ve had the trimmer for a little over a year and the battery suddenly stopped recharging. This is apparently a known issue as there are a few articles/youtube videos showing you how to recharge it but you have to void the warranty in the process. It seems after some research that the inherent issue is that while the battery does still hold a minimal charge, the threshold of the charging station is set too high to recognize it. Also, there is no direct replacement for the battery available to purchase as it seems the 1.3ah 18v batteries have been discontinued and the next ah is 1.5 but priced at about $50. Yikes! Might as well buy a new trimmer for a little more. Overall decent product, just wish the battery lasted longer than a year. Hopefully Ryobi will do something to remedy this issue in the future.

Just bought it for a xmas presant so it’s not been used. I do how ever have a problem the trying to buy additional battery and charger can’t find them on your sigth. Ryobi sys buy fromyou but if the prices I saw were right it would be cheaper to buy a nother weed eater.

I bought this online site unseen, It is kind of like a little plastic kids toy with a blade. The lack of weight actually makes it work pretty well for what I needed it for which was for mowing grass and weeds in a culvert. It misses a lot of the stuff it rolls over but it does work. Just a little more cheaply built that I thought it would be.

This Ryobi Cordless String Trimmer and Edger is a great product. The batter last long enough to edge and trim both my front and back yards, (standard size). The edger also does a great job between cement cracks (but will use a lot or wire there). It is extremely easy to convert from trimmer to edger. Very light weight and easy to maneuver. I’ve used it more than five times and it still feels brand new. Excellent product.
