The RYOBI 18-Volt ONE+ In-Vehicle Charger is compatible with all RYOBI 18-Volt ONE+ Ni-Cd and Lithium-Ion batteries. For your convenience, just plug it into your car’s 12-Volt DC outlet. It only takes 30 minutes to fully charge your 1.5 Ah batteries (not included). Best of all, it is part of the RYOBI ONE+ System of over 175 Cordless Tools that all work on the same battery platform. Backed by the RYOBI 3-Year Manufacturer’s Warranty, the 18-Volt ONE+ In-Vehicle Dual Chemistry Car Charger includes an operator’s manual. Batteries sold separately.

The charger does what it is suppose to do…charge Ryobi batteries! I also have some aftermarket Ryobi style batteries and it charges them too. Charging is fast. A 5AH battery takes about 30 mins. and the battery and charger will be warm. I expect charge time to vary due to temperature.

We live in the desert and need a fan during camping trips. Plug the charger in our cigarette lighter and the battery charges (we usually take a couple batteries to rotate). Then, we plug the battery into our Ryobi fan and … ah, relief! We also take the Ryobi flashlight. When the power goes out at our house no problem, we have still have fans and a light. A fan is a lifesaver when it can reach 115+ out here.

Just a bit of background, my wife and I lost power with the most recent tropical storm. So this was an impulse buy. We bought this because I had the 120V converter from Ryobi. This allowed us to charge batteries while we ran to get coffee or other errands. I was surprised at how quickly all the batteries charged including the 4ah and 9ah batteries. I would reccomend this to anyone that is in an area where they may lose power.

A cigarette lighter in a vehicle is an inverter. I tried to use the charger on my 12v scontroller solar controller. It would not work. I changed and put in on the inverter side of my solar controller and it worked fine.
