Over time, I have accumulated an assortment of 18V and 40V batteries to go with my RYOBI yard tools. The addition of a few RYOBI power generators (inverters) and a RYOBI camping lantern lets my RYOBI batteries provide lighting and a few creature comforts during power outages. My latest purchase is this in-vehicle charger. It allows me to recharge my 18V batteries using the cigarette lighter (electrical port) in my car so I can continue using those batteries if the outage is extended. To test this in-vehicle charger, I charged a new 18V, 3 Ah battery in my car under the conditions I would expect in a power outage. The unit performed as expected. The only trick was I needed my car to be turned “on” in order for the electrical port to supply power. Also, if I did not keep the fob in the car, my car would shut off after a short while. So I can either make multiple trips to restart the car, or just keep the fob in the car while the battery charges.

This is the perfect device to compliment my Ryobi tools. I used to take tons of batteries with my Ryobi devices that i took camping. Now i don’t have to. Just take a couple of batteries and this charger.

Tried the unit and it’s just what I need for flexibility. I can use it in a vehicle that has no DC to AC Power Inverter.

Bought this for a week long trip to the Nevada desert to camp . I have a few different 18v lights and A fan. I used the 12v car charger to keep all my batteries up while traveling to different hikes and such. Charger worked great and was just as fast charging batteries as the 110 plug in rapid charger. I could charge the 3amp batteries in a little over an hour and the 4amp batteries in less than 2 hours. Works better than expected. Would highly recommend if vehicle power is the only option for charging

I carry my 18v Ryobi compressor and 6ah battery in my car with me AT ALL TIMES. This car battery charger has been the difference between calling a tow truck or roadside assistance and being able to put air in my tires and keep going!

I can do some pretty high end/speedy maintenance now with all the battery powered tools at my disposal. The biggest issue with maintenance is the tear down and re-assemble. All my current tools allow for comfort and confidence. The details are the fun and easy part.

I do like this charger. It allows me to charge 18V one+ batteries in our remote location, Ranch. I’ve only used it about thirteen times.

I purchased this for my new car and I’m glad I did

After I discovered that a charger in the vehicle is actually an inverter, I have not had any more problems hooking up the ryobi charger to my solar controller which has an inverter and a 12 volt solar charger.
