Very pleased with this cordless weeder. I was skeptical as I had one nearly 15 years ago that could barely cut grass, and forget about weeds etc. Took a chance on this one due to reviews and I already had the Ryobi tool set with multiple batteries. I am not disappointed. I have used it to cut the tall dead weeds in the back yard of my 1 acre lot, and it works like a champ. Lots and weeds vary, but I can get ~1000 sq. ft from a 4Ah battery.

It looks light duty its winter so really haven’t been able to use it

the weedeater works just fine but I have to do my yard half at a time the battery dies so fast it only last about 15 minutes

Lots of zip! Have only used it a couple times, but it was surprisingly effective. Per another review, I was glad to know that the line advances with the trigger. Best to keep it running or you seem to lose line each time you start it. Very light weight and well balanced. Easy to assemble.

I am pleased with my purchase, I’m just not sure of one thing and that’s is how you stop it from dispensing more line whenever you let off the trigger, I’m sure I’ll figure it out though, other than that I’m very satisfied

Don’t like the way the string advances. Would rather have the tap method. Don’t need it to advance every time u let go of the trigger

My husband is very happy with his new trimmer. He has many Ryobi tools.

How can I get an extra battery and more strings?

Great job on my small yard. Single line so you don’t want to use it on a really thick area, but does a great job edging and taking out dead grass.

Plenty of power for what I wanted – mostly dead grass and weeds along the edges and growing in driveway cracks. A bit of adjusting to keeping it on between areas to not advance the string, but not a problem. I used a 4AH battery bought separately and it went down one light after a full session of use. So far the best part is that the string advance works like it should. Still to come is how the reloading will go. This is replacing a 20 year old Ryobi corded trimmer that would have worked well except for the string mechanism that never did work like it was supposed to.

Lightweight, powerful, ergonomic and best of all….it uses my existing batteries and charger

Good machine. I have a corner lot with a lot plantings to cut the edges around. And I have 4 batteries: 2 large ones and 2 normal ones. I was able to do the whole yard before the 2nd large battery was depleted. I like this tool system with interchangable batteries. Good work.

The trimmer was easy to assemble. It’s lightweight and cuts grass and weeds easily. Not sure about run time on battery as have only used it for 15-20 minutes… but it showed no signs of power loss after that amount of time.

I don’t have a lot of trimming to do but this works very nicely. I didn’t have the too much auto feed problem that some reviews mentioned but I have the opposite problem where it doesn’t seem to auto feed at all sometimes. Its a pretty quick fix maybe 30 seconds to pop off the end unwind a bit of string (it’s usually bound up but I can just pull and it unwinds an inch or two) and snap the cover back on. Otherwise no complaints.

Purchased this product shortly after I purchased a Ryobi battery operated lawnmower and a Ryobi blower. I am completely satisfied with all 3. The trimmer is lightweight and fairly quiet. For me there was a learning curve for advancing the trim line but I finally figured it out. It was a great investment for a 68 year old widow. Highly recommend.

Great shipping and delivery time. Really pleased with the website and the way everything worked. It was my first online purchase from Home Depot and went great. On to the part. The trimmer is meant for light to medium duty. It does very well at that! If you already have other Ryobi stuff like I do then batteries are not a problem. I use the bigger batteries for longer run time. For the downside, the autofeed spool is annoying. Every time you let off the trigger it lets out a bit of line. This forces you to keep it running as you move from tree to tree or to the next place that needs trimming. After wasting some line and figuring out how fast the line actually wanted to feed based on usage then it was happy trimming.

I like Roybi products. Nice String Trimmer. Disappointed that you can not edge grass along sidewalks.
