saves from using gas !!

The weed eater battery runs out much faster than advertised. We also got the matching blower (a week after) and it doesn’t have enough power to blow leaves off of our patio.

Is too heavy for women

It gets the job done. The “0” shaped handle on pole will not tighten up anymore, the screw isn’t stripped, it just can’t tighten up enough against the pole body to stay in position. The replacement line spools are a bit pricey

Have not used it yet. Hope the battery is good. I bought a Pole saw from Home Depot and the battery would never charge up. Home Depot did nothing about it.

2.5 hrs after first use and it works ok but battery power/capacity is disappointing (used in light duty edge trimming only). I have had to charge the battery 4-times operating under mostly low power; I wish there was a 6-ah battery available that can be packaged with the retail tool. I’ll see about tool reliability/durability after more hours of use.

Ryobi is, in my humble opinion, the best cordless tool on the market. I own everything from a flashlight to all kinds of saws. The weed eater is by far better than any gas powered one. No loud whining motor and no fumes to contend with and it does as good or better than the gas ones. I will never buy another gas job.

I would prefer to have only bought the bottom part of the weed whacker and it was the motor at the bottom of my previous 18v weed whachter that decided to fail. In general the design needs to put METAL guards around the spinning part to keep grass from getting wrapped around the shaft. The plastic guard breaks too easily.

I have only had this tool since late summer so I don’t have a lot of usage yet. Overall the trimmer performs quite well. Reasonable power, 2 speeds (for some reason), seemingly good quality, and a decent strong trimmer line. A few cons to go along with that, though. First thing I noticed was difficulty getting into the corners of the yard because of the large guard attached to the motor. Second, the included battery is too small to last a full session. And I don’t have a large yard. Lastly, the auto feed of the line doesn’t work very well. Problem is that it works too well. Too often, that is. Every time you release the trigger and restart the trimmer the line feeds. Even if it isn’t too short. So consequently each time you restart, you waste line due to the excess now getting cut to length. And this is using the included factory wound spools. I think the old bump feed used years ago was better. Only feed when you have to.Overall, minor things to gripe about, but annoying all the same. A pretty good tool overall.
