Now that I’ve used the P20110 a couple of times I thought I would share how impressed I am with the tool. I don’t have a large space to trim, maybe 300 linear feet, and I’m not taking down large weeds. I’m just trying to get a nice, tight trim along the lawn’s edge. This thing has more than enough power for that! This first time using I went through a 4Ah battery before finishing as I was getting used to using a straight shaft trimmer. But having several batteries it’s not a big deal. I’ve always had curved trimmers in the past. There is a trick to using straight shafts efficiently as they can be used in several different positions depending on what you need to do…lots of landscaping vids out there to see how its done. The best feature for myself is the length. As a tall guy (6’5″), this is a back saver! No more hunched over at a weird angle to get at it.I had previously used the P2030 that I got on the cheap. And it was cheap. It did the job, barely. Coupled with some cheap string I was constantly having to slow down so it would auto feed, hit a brick, break some string off, slow down to auto feed, cut for a few more a few more feet, break of some more string, slow down to auto feed, over and over. It was a slow process. The unit was small and light which was convenient but having to constantly re-feed the spool was a pain. Enter the P20110…this thing is a beast! Night and day difference! Gobs of power comes at a the price of weight, but well worth it. It digs into the ground if you let it and will throw lots of debris, protective eye wear is a must…and pants. The first time wearing shorts was a mistake.I thought the straight shaft attachments might be kind of gimmicky, but after appreciating the power behind it, I’m inclined to take a second look at some. Very satisfied this this purchase.

Matched with the Ryobi power unit it works well. It will clog and jam with moist soil, but is easily cleared.

This was super easy to attach and worked well once I got the hang of it. The drawback is not with the attachment but with the lack of power in the Ryobi unit. It works really well except for overgrown areas like I had. It still worked eventually but it was tough to get through some places and I feared burning out the motor. Definitely does not work in muddy areas as it clogs (which it warns about in the instructions.) But I would recommend this attachment if you already have a ryobi unit. It makes a nice straight edge.

It was a birthday gift for my husband. Apparently it’s amazing! He is whacking like, all the time. Just loves whacking, the weeds.

Great quality and the easiest edger to use!

Something is wrong with the connection… it keeps stopping and blade will not turn unless I tilt it up continuously.

Very east to change out the weed eater for the Edger. Much more durable than my Cub Cadet weeder and attachments.

The order experience was good and timely, trimmer was a good price for kit and was easy to assemble. The Charger could be faster but adequate. The trimmer suffers from battery life. In heavy trimming run time is less than 10 mins. Maybe ok for the homeowner but not for larger property, you will need several batteries to compare to even a basic gas trimmer. I liked this for taking on our UTV and doing touch up trimming around bushes and posts but the run time is a lot less then what I expected.

I bought this tool toward the end of the season. I have only used the serrated blade weed cutter. It works great. We have a hidden section of the yard that had gotten out of control with big gnarly weeds. The Ryobi tool cut them down with ease. I also used the edge attachment and was happy with it. This is our second Ryobi weed whacker. I prefer this newer one because the older one was difficult for me to convert between weed cutter and edger. We really like the big battery that holds a charge for a long time. Our only complaint is that the instructions for assembly are nearly useless. My husband and son were able to assemble it for me. A person without good mechanical skills would likely have trouble making it work.

The RYOBI Expand-It 8 in. Universal worked great. I was able to cut and edge straight line all around my home. You can adjust the height to your preference. I utilized the RYOBI Expand-It 8 in. Universal with my Toro 18” Gas Straight Trimmer that allows you to change attachments. The RYOBI Expand-It 8 in. Universal is a great addition for maintaining and edging my yard with very little effort. I highly recommend this product.

The battery needs to be recharged after less than 20 minutes of use.

Giving 4 stars not because of performance but due to no instruction manual. All instructions were on the box. Sure the manual is downloadable but not what I want to do when using for the first time. I have some hand weakness due to advanced arthritis but the edger was fairly easy to attach. I lay the entire machine on a portable table when changing attachments which eliminates having to balance the heavy ends. Edger works great. Clean edges. Plenty of power.
