I had an older version of this trimmer that recently stopped working (operator error it seems). It was a few years old and used roughly. Since it did so well I thought I would buy a newer model that uses the same batteries, etc. It’s a little heavier than the older one. The weight does balance out once you put the battery pack in, so no worries there. Using the edger feature isn’t as easy as the smaller model, but it works well enough. You can tell they put some additional thought into the design with the manner in which the motor is mounted to the head. I doubt I will ever have any issue with this trimmer. I’m looking forward to years of use.

The string head is junk. Never did work correctly. Need new and different head and can not find one. I have other Ryobi tools all are very good except the string head on the 18V trimmer.

The equipment does the job. Don’t expect to cut all your grass with this equipment. This equipment is really good for edges and small areas. Avoid to use it close to concrete and sidewalks because the string wont last as expected.
