Just like every other Ryobi tool that I have bought, this trimmer works as well if not better than my old gas trimmer. Battery life is good but who doesn’t have one or 10 extra batteries laying around already…

This was the first ryobi lawn tool I bought. Its has gas like power. I can trim my entire yard including around my chain link fence. Inside and out. On one 4amp hour battery.

I picked this up as my back always hurt when using my Stihl line trimmer. the STihl is a beast and if I need to be in brush it will continue to be my go to but for Weeds thiand small thing like those darn oaks seedlings this Ryobi is more than enough and I am not tired after using it.

A STEP UP in power from my last trimmer. Love the longetivity in battery life too. The only reason it didn’t get five star is I am petite and it does get tiring on your forearm as it is heavier than my last Ryobi trimmer.

I bought this trimmer two weeks ago and I could not be happier. At first I wasn’t too impressed with the power, but then I realized that it has a High and Low speed. I was using it on Low which is great for driveway edging and close to yard plants. Then I realized that it has a High speed and I was very impressed with its power! I was able to do everything I normally would need to do with my gas trimmer without all the hassle. Great buy and highly recommended.

I did a good deal of research before I bought this as I really needed a trimmer with adequate power, I have been borrowing my son’s Homelite gas powered trimmer which had the power I needed, but I found a bit heavy, and of course added fumes escaping into the air. I love Ryobi power tools in general, so I decided on this trimmer. The major complaint I found in the peer reviews was the heat generated near the battery caused some users concern. I have used the trimmer a number of time now, and, when used as pictured and directed I haven’t come into contact with any heat whatsoever. Above all else, I have found this trimmer, at high or low speed and in my opinion, gives no loss of power when compared to the Homelite without the fumes and the noise. I’m very pleased.

I purchased this trimmer about a month ago, and was initially very impressed. It is solidly made, well balanced, and very user friendly. The only issue I have experienced is that the batteries do not last very long under heavy usage, approximately an hour. I am certainly “trigger happy”, and I have been known to postpone string trimming longer than is advisable. Having the ability to use any of my other Ryobi 18v batteries is a huge help here, so I feel like it balances out. Overall very happy with the purchase, would definitely buy again!

I just got this, surprisingly light weight. I did everything and still had battery power left.

Just bought this to replace an old corded string trimmer that had worn out. It was easy to assemble and I used it right away. Key feature for me is one more tool that utilizes the same battery I use for other tools.

I bought a second trimmer after abusing the first one at an apartment complex. Light and easy to use trimming or edging sidewalks and patios.

I gave this 5 stars, but have realistic expectations. First with expectations – do not expect this battery operated trimmer to perform as well as my gas trimmer, but the benefits outweigh the cons. This trimmer is definitely not as powerful as a typical gas trimmer, but the benefits are as follows:* A lot less noise! My ears are happy!* No more mixing gas and oil.* No more exhaust fumes.* No more motor vibration on your hands and arm that you get from a gas trimmer. Make sure you have a second battery as these trimmers will eat through a 4ah battery pretty quickly.

After crawling around trimming for 50 years I finally got smart and bought this product. I am so happy. It is light enough for my smaller hands and ability. I did in a day what did take me a week on hands and knees. Wish I had been smarter years ago.

I can not believe that I thought a battery charged trimmer would be light on power!!! My gas (Stihl) trimmer needed repair and it was going to be a while before it could be attended to. I had just bought the leaf blower brought the Ryobi sale(buy a set of batteries and get a tool free), and I read the reviews of this trimmer. I wanted light weight but long lasting battery as I have almost two acres of trees, gardens, buildings etc to trim around. I can’t find enough to trim now!!! Trimming was my absolute LEAST favorite job in the yard, but this has been a game changer! Do not hesitate with this tool, it has the power, battery lasts long and is pretty lightweight!!!! I am even looking at the Ryobi tree trimmer now that I feel so comfortable with these tools.
