RYOBI introduces the 18-Volt ONE+ Cordless 3-Speed 1/2 in. Impact Wrench (Tool-Only). The 3-Speed 1/2 in. Impact Wrench is more compact and more powerful than the ever before. With this new design, it produces 300 ft./lbs. of torque and up to 3,200 impacts per minute (IPM) allowing you to use this tool for a variety of heavy duty applications. This tool features a 3-speed selector switch and tri-beam LED lights. The RYOBI 18-Volt ONE+ 3-Speed 1/2 in. Impact Wrench works with any 18-Volt ONE+ battery (sold separately). Best of all, it’s a part of the RYOBI ONE+ System of over 175 Cordless Tools that all work on the same battery platform. Backed by the RYOBI 3-Year Manufacturer’s Warranty, the 3-Speed 1/2 in. Impact Wrench includes an operator’s manual. Battery and charger sold separately.

This is my second Impact from Ryobi and I have found them to be more than adequate quality for the price. They are sturdy enough to withstand chemical being splashed on them regularly, and provide enough power to break nearly any bolt loose I have come across while using. It may not be designed for industrial applications, but it does hold up well in one.

So far so good. First use saved me a trip to the mechanic. Had enough power to break free a couple rusty muffler bolts. Adjustable torque setting was great to ramp up slowly so I did not strip these bolts out. Can’t believe I did not purchase sooner!

I felt the torque wasn’t as powerful as other impact wrenches. It’s good for driving and loosening your average nut and bolt. But if you are looking for some heavy duty torque to break some heavily rusted nuts, you’re better off with a long socket wrench with an extended handle. this is not a newer HP+One wrench so the lack of an extra power boost was sorely missed. The huge 4Ah battery was the best part of the deal. The battery alone made this purchase an easy one. The wrench was probably worth 3 stars and the battery was a 5 star value. So four stars. Don’t get your hopes up on torque though.

I’ve been skeptical about Ryobi for quite a while. I was gifted a set of Ryobi tools that I couldn’t turn down, and I’ve been talking myself into keeping them ever since. When I put my brand bias aside, I can see that these tools really are pretty great. I used the impact wrench just today changing brake pads, and it broke the lug nuts loose without hesitation, and it’s not the brushless one! If you’re looking for a good range of tools on a single battery design and a great price, this is the way to go.
