Tough- as with all Ryobi machines, I just pull them out of the vehicle and throw them on the ground; never had one break from mishandling.Smooth- no vibrationQuiet- much quieter than the old onePowerful- I was trimming a bush when I accidentally hit an old, hard, piece of wood way over 1/2” dia. The trimmer snipped it off with no effort. Cold sweat ran down my spine. I ran to put on my steel-toe shoes!Advice: a) Be careful- this machine is so smooth and quiet that it can lull you into carelessness. It is deceptively powerful and can snip off a finger or toe before you realize what is happening. Always keep both hands on the machine. Never grab errant leaves to stuff into the cutters. b) Be sure to oil it before starting; the quickest way to ruin a trimmer is to run it dry. c) HD also sells Rigid, and their parts are often interchangeable or easily modified for use.-Larry
