I have slowly been trying to add a Ryobi tool whenever I get a chance. This sander was the last one I picked up and it definitely gets the job done. The design, the quality and performance is is very good. I haven’t had a problem with it. I can’t wait to use it again. The last time I used it I finally put pickets on my moms front doorstep deck area. She even helped out sanding.

First one made it about 2 months of light use, then the switch stuck and wouldn’t turn on. I attempted to tear it down to see what was wrong, but never could get it disassembled. I tossed it in the trash and bought another one, this time with the extra $6 for the warranty. This one didn’t make it past 2 weeks, same thing happened. Only sanding the putty from some trim boards. There is a defect in the switch design obviously. Sent Ryobi a feedback message. Will exchange this one and hope for the best. Of all my Ryobi tools, this one is the only that has failed.

This is my second of these sanders, I burned the motor up on the previous one (after 4 years of hard use). I admit that I am probably a cordless tool abuser. Notwithstanding, I have over 20 Ryobi 18V tools in use now. This isn’t the first nor will it me the last Ryobi tool I will destroy (I kill batteries too), I expect that when I purchase a ‘home use tool’ and then use it in a commercial application. I love my Ryobi tools, I couldn’t live without them. The ergonomics with all of their products is much better than some the the much more expensive brands. The convenience of a single battery system is a huge advantage to someone with so many tools in use. This is a good all purpose sander and would probably last a long time in someone else’s shop. If I toast this one, I’ll just buy another one, they are only $44.

Worked perfect out of the box sanded several projects with just one charge, did not notice any power decrease.

No complaints, worked very well, it also include a few sanding disks. AAA+++

I bought this because I was upgrading another palm sander. Although I have not used this yet, but I like the hook and loop attachment for the sandpaper. Much better than the clips where the paper tears because it gets loose. The other big advantage of this unit is the cordless operation. I have many Ryobi tools wih the same battery. No more dragging cords around!

worked exactly like I wanted it to.

Does an excellent job on flat surfaces. It is a a little bulky for curved and finer sanding.

Excellent, but battery lasts only 10 minutes or so.

This sander works well for me. I already had 2 18-volt Ryobi batteries.

The sand preformed very well for a battery powered tool and the battery lasted through the whole job

Works as you would expect sanders to work

This was a gift purchase for my woodworker son. Starting the day after Christmas, he sanded and sanded and reported great results.

Gave this as a gift and my son-in-law was very pleased with it.

The battery is hard to remove.

I haven’t used it a lot yet, but I do like it. Of course, the first one I bought, I didn’t think worked correctly and took it back. This doesn’t work like a normal orbital sander, spinning constantly. The description is a bit misleading, in that it references 10k orbits. Called customer service line, and was told that my concern/question was one of the most common they get for this item.
