The sander has good dust collection but the bag must be emptied often. During sanding I noticed little dust flying around and after there was little dust on wood surface. the sander and be used with either 1 or 2 hands because of the gripping surfaces. I tried using both 2AH and 4AH batteries, the 4 makes it too heavy to handle unless you are just doing a horizontal flat surface. Would like to see an adapter from the rectangular port to a vacuum hose.

This finish sander is such an improvement to my old corded sander. It does an amazing job for the price. It’s quieter and less fatiguing to use. And i must say that the dust control acutally works, even without a vacuum hose attached. A truly cordless sander that works, period!

Bought to replace corded model that had broken. Sanded just as well as corded and no cord is a real plus.

I was tired of fighting cords when sanding projects so I decided to try this out. So glad I did. It has incredible sanding power for a battery unit. The dust system picks up the dust pretty well into the included bag. I ordered the adapter to connect it to my dust collector when I am going to do lots of sanding. That makes it virtually dustless!!!! I like to keep a clean shop so less sawdust to pick up is a plus. The unit is also very ergonomic to use also in spite of it looking a little top heavy. Definitely my go to sander now. It runs through a 2AHr battery in about 15 minutes so have an extra one handy. I keep an eye out for batteries an Direct Tools and pick them up on sale so I have lots on stand by.

I was very tired of having to plug in my power tools

Works really well but does tend to be power hungry.

I have never regretted the purchase of this sander – I do recommend using the smaller batteries if the weight is a problem for you, but I was able to use with the large capacity battery with no issues – I highly recommend this tool.

I’ve had many issues with other sheet sanders where the paper would slide off due to poor quality patches, with this sander that isn’t the case.

Very good cordless sander. Just as good as Makita but much cheaper

I was excited to have this sander in my possession for a small project I was working. It performed well to the minor sanding I had to do to clean up the work pieces. It is ergonomic and well-weighted.I have to list two items I find deficient/lacking in ease of use that are normally high standards for Ryobi tools. The first is the power buttons: these are not terribly easy to access/press (though perhaps due to the nature of the tool vibration). The second is how tightly the battery latches to the tool; I find that it is easy release the clamps/latches but rather difficult to actually remove the battery.

I’ve had few issues with the 18V Ryobi line and this is no exception. It’s a great sander for home use and it has performed without fail.

It works very well in all regards. My only issue is that it is akward to hold.

One of my go-to tools. Works great for quick jobs.

I got this to replace and old makita that could no longer be fixed. Has more power and weighs less than my old makita. I really like the paper punch that comes with it.
