I own several Ryobi 18 volt units. This one, the newest model, I like least and rate it lower than the original Corner Sander. 1 – The BATTERY WAS DIFFICULT TO REMOVE. I returned to the store to compare and the one we compared to did the same – difficult to remove.2 – The grip is not as easy to hold and guide and not suited to the smaller hand.3 – Then the sanding process was different and seems less efficient compared to the older model.

My second one. It performs very well. Only issue is that the molding is a little off and the battery fit is very tight. I have to wrestle with loading and unloading it. Hoping it loosens up a little. Otherwise it would have been a 5.

Of the 7 Ryobi tools I have so far this is the only one I have been disappointed in. The tool itself is great but the battery life is seriously disappointing. I get about 5min of sanding (or barely both sides of one 8′ 2×6 board) out of a 4ah battery. This isn’t Ryobi’s fault just be aware that you’ll need a ton of batteries to get any large sanding projects done.

Bought this product and put it to work on an outside counter top. It worked well and stood up to the heavy use. I am well satisfied with this tool.

This is a tough little sander. I was initially worried about battery vs cord. No more, it is very strong. I don’t like the on /off switch, it’s awkward.

First one made it about 2 months of light use, then the switch stuck and wouldn’t turn on. I attempted to tear it down to see what was wrong, but never could get it disassembled. I tossed it in the trash and bought another one, this time with the extra $6 for the warranty. This one didn’t make it past 2 weeks, same thing happened. Only sanding the putty from some trim boards. There is a defect in the switch design obviously. Sent Ryobi a feedback message. Will exchange this one and hope for the best. Of all my Ryobi tools, this one is the only that has failed.

The belt sander is on the smaller side. Belt is narrow and not too long. It doesn’t move as fast as the corded full size my dad had and isn’t as powerful. Also even my la best battery, a 3ah one, doesn’t last very long.So it is good for small projects and handy;but not a replacement for a full size corded model.I haven’t used the corner sander yet- got it since the kit was cost effective.

Replaced Sears plug-in belt sander. Works great. Don’t miss the cord. Has the same power; press down too hard and both stall out. Dust port system seems to work better than it’s corded cousin.

Works great. The problem people have with the belt running off is completely correctable using the adjustment knob. Great sander for the price!

Great little sander for the money we paid for it.

It needs the biggest battery you can buy to get any life from it. The handle can pop out of its position just be aware. I was sanding a fence, so I wasn’t horizontal but it surprised me how often it moved. The belt tends to deviate inward rubbing against the sander but I don’t care about that. It does remove wood as long as you have the power behind it! Good buy

Powerful little sander. Great addition to our RYOBI tool collection.

Has done a great job on my projects so far! Very happy with it! Like every other sander I have used, more shoots out then gets in the bag. If it caught more than it shot out, I would give it 5 stars 🙂 But that isn’t a knock as all sanders are that way.

This product is fast and helpful when I am making my resin letters for my keychains.
