RYOBI introduces the 18-Volt ONE+ Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 3 in. x 18 in. Belt Sander and 3-1/4 in. Planer (Tools Only). The brushless motor produces speeds of up to 850 FPM, providing the user with true corded performance with cordless convenience. With a low-profile design and a tool-free 5-position pommel handle, this sander is able to get into tight spaces while providing a more comfortable and customizable user experience. Additional features include tool-free belt tracking and a lock-on switch to maximize user control and convenience while you work. The 18-Volt ONE+ Cordless 3-1/4 in. Planer has an incredible 3 in. to1/4 in. cut width and up to 1/16 in. cutting depth per pass. The 3-1/4 in. Planer is loaded with great features such as its automatic kickstand which helps prevent you from marring your work piece and has a convenient on-board blade wrench storage. The dual left or right chip exhaust also gives you the freedom to choose what you are most comfortable with. Best of all, it’s a part of the RYOBI ONE+ System of over 175 Cordless Tools that all work on the same battery platform. Bought this for a simple routing job, and it did the job. Read the reviews about the depth setting drifting during use. It did for me until I realized that I was trying to cut too much material in one pass. Take it slow and don’t try to hog it and this works fine. Like other reviews, I did find the switch location on the back of the router inconvenient. You have to carefully position the router before fumbling for the switch. Overall, for the price, it works well, but only if you already have a battery and charger. If you have to purchase those as well, you might be better to look further.

This router is great. It is easy to handle and to adjust. It is super convenient to grab and get to work. It has all the power I need for round-overs and trimming. I haven’t tried anything more taxing on it yet.

I bought this because I was upgrading another palm sander. Although I have not used this yet, but I like the hook and loop attachment for the sandpaper. Much better than the clips where the paper tears because it gets loose. The other big advantage of this unit is the cordless operation. I have many Ryobi tools wih the same battery. No more dragging cords around!

Perfect small/ detail router for trim/ small projects. Certainly doesn’t replace my fixed table or plunge router, but good for detail work. Lots of power and small size. Kind of awkward to hold but can be used one handed without too much hassle.1.5aH batteries were hit or miss, heavier battery (4ah) had no problem, but made the unit a little too heavy.for the price can’t beat it for what you get!

I’m new to woodworking and got this in a kit. It was easy to plane some boards and the dust collection with a vacuum is really good. I used a 4Ah battery (non-hp) and it ate the battery really quickly. I get it’s a brushed tool so have another battery ready and you should be good. Overall I’m pretty happy with it.
