With a low-profile design and a tool-free 5-position pommel handle, this sander is able to get into tight spaces while providing a more comfortable and customizable experience. Additional features include tool-free belt tracking and lock-on switch to maximize control and convenience while you work. Best of all, it’s a part of the RYOBI ONE+ System of over 175 Cordless Tools that all work on the same battery platform. Backed by the RYOBI 3-Year Manufacturer’s Warranty, this 18-Volt ONE+ Brushless Belt Sander includes a dust bag, an 80-grit sanding belt, and an operator’s manual. Battery and charger sold separately. The 16 ft. Tape Measure with Over mold and Wire form Belt Clip features a measuring range of 16 ft., making it perfect for all of your projects. Its reinforced rubber over mold housing fits comfortably in your hand while also making it impact resistant and heavy duty. The blade features fractions markings for superior accuracy and a nylon coating for wear resistance and durability. it also features an Accu-Slide hook that automatically adjusts for inside and outside measurements. I renovate houses for a living and most of the time when I need a belt sander it’s for a quick job like sanding the edge of a door that rubs so this is the perfect tool for me. It has just as much power as the corded ryobi sander I’m retiring. This was the last corded tool I kept in my truck. I’m so glad not to have to get out an extension cord just for a 5 minute sanding job. It does go through batteries quick so it’s not for big jobs. For me that doesn’t really matter much though.

Operation is intuitive; cordless operation a big plus where outlets not always conveniently located on the job; Ryobi belts n/a but HD has a wide array of 3”x18” belts in the store.

Of the 7 Ryobi tools I have so far this is the only one I have been disappointed in. The tool itself is great but the battery life is seriously disappointing. I get about 5min of sanding (or barely both sides of one 8′ 2×6 board) out of a 4ah battery. This isn’t Ryobi’s fault just be aware that you’ll need a ton of batteries to get any large sanding projects done.

I own about a dozen 18V Ryobi power tools, and have been very pleased. I’m not satisfied with the sander’s tracking. It is very hard to adjust, and when you finally have it running straight, it does not completely cover the shoe. If I wasn’t so committed to the 18V system, I would have returned it.
