Worked great right out of the box. Used it to smooth a rock climbing panel and framing for my work bench. The battery lasted for the whole project. Wonderful tool.

I renovate houses for a living and most of the time when I need a belt sander it’s for a quick job like sanding the edge of a door that rubs so this is the perfect tool for me. It has just as much power as the corded ryobi sander I’m retiring. This was the last corded tool I kept in my truck. I’m so glad not to have to get out an extension cord just for a 5 minute sanding job. It does go through batteries quick so it’s not for big jobs. For me that doesn’t really matter much though.

It did its job, too bad it doesn’t have adjustable speed and it doesn’t come with a battery.

Have not used it yet

Easy to use

This was an expensive investment for someone who won’t use it a lot. So I returned it and got the one that has a cord.

So far so good!
Nicholaus Mertz (verified owner) –
Works great. Bought 120 grit belts to go along and finish the job.
Rosetta Ratke (verified owner) –
Light weight, and easy to use. There is no worry about a cord when working in different situations. Typical battery life, does not bog easy, and fairly powerful.

Operation is intuitive; cordless operation a big plus where outlets not always conveniently located on the job; Ryobi belts n/a but HD has a wide array of 3”x18” belts in the store.

Of the 7 Ryobi tools I have so far this is the only one I have been disappointed in. The tool itself is great but the battery life is seriously disappointing. I get about 5min of sanding (or barely both sides of one 8′ 2×6 board) out of a 4ah battery. This isn’t Ryobi’s fault just be aware that you’ll need a ton of batteries to get any large sanding projects done.

Excellent tool for the money. I picked this up along with the battery packs during the buy one get a tool free. These Ryobi tools are an inexpensive way to get quality tools and still save a little cash if you are just starting out. This even comes with a belt already installed!

Great little sander. It does go thru the 4 AH battery pretty quickly so several are needed for bigger jobs.

Great product. As expected.

this product was of very good quality the dust port was placed in a bad spot but it ate through the material with one 4 amp battery.

I been buying ryobi for years and I recently bought it for bathroom cabinet that I was making and it was great. I love how my table came out

Works very well.

I own about a dozen 18V Ryobi power tools, and have been very pleased. I’m not satisfied with the sander’s tracking. It is very hard to adjust, and when you finally have it running straight, it does not completely cover the shoe. If I wasn’t so committed to the 18V system, I would have returned it.
