Worked great with my existing batteries…only issue is the bag doesn’t trap fine dust. I was grinding down some old thinset for a new tiled floor and was hoping it would catch the dust better than it did. However, I am glad I purchased it and would recommend to others.

Don’t buy this unless you have at least 6ah HP batteries. Even with new 4ah batteries performance is weak and run time is short. It really only performs well with my 9ah battery.

I have many Ryobi tools and they are awesome

Was easy to set up. Only issue was the tracking was way off. Used it a few times works well for a small belt sander.

It needs the biggest battery you can buy to get any life from it. The handle can pop out of its position just be aware. I was sanding a fence, so I wasn’t horizontal but it surprised me how often it moved. The belt tends to deviate inward rubbing against the sander but I don’t care about that. It does remove wood as long as you have the power behind it! Good buy

Plenty of power, very fast. Easy to control and replace the sanding belts.

Did a great job at it’s primary goal of sanding. I needed to pick up additional battery to enable swapping since the change does last very long. The dust bag did not really work. There may have been a clog but it was not obvious.

A solid little beast! Definitely a tool everyone should have in the arsenal even if it’s just for a few uses here and there.

Bought this product and put it to work on an outside counter top. It worked well and stood up to the heavy use. I am well satisfied with this tool.

Another great product by Ryobi. I love being able to use one battery for all my tools.

sanding paper shifts off of tool, which requires frequent stopping to slide back on. No clamps to prevent it from continuing to slide off. The torque is rather powerful so must be strong enough to resist the pull or else no actual sanding is achieved. Battery power is used up quickly, recommend having 2 batteries. I wouldn’t buy this again. Orbital sander is easier to use and still achieves great results. I will be keeping this one and only using for rough sanding of clamped wood only. Without clamps there is enough torque to catapult a 2×4 board that is 75 inches long.

First project was leveling off a pine table top. Have lots of batteries ready as it will plow through them. 3 amp battery lasts about 10 minutes with constant use. Other than that, it works great. As I became used to the routine of changing the belts, I found it very easy to adjust the tracking so that the belt doesn’t drift. Great tool overall!

Replaced Sears plug-in belt sander. Works great. Don’t miss the cord. Has the same power; press down too hard and both stall out. Dust port system seems to work better than it’s corded cousin.
