I have a plug in rotary tool but what do you do on those occasions when there is no convenient plug and the project either can’t move at all or not easily. There are always those little projects that take thirty seconds unless you have to drag the whole thing someplace else. I normally don’t buy this particular style of rotary tool but there are some things that need a light precision touch that you just can’t beat this version of the good old handy dandy rotary tool. The other attraction was the ryobi battery that I already own several of for my other stuff. My first project was cutting apart a particularly heavy duty plastic package for a set of wrenches I bought, it handled it well no complaints. You get a small but useful assortment of commonly used rotary tool bits the picture above is accurate and what you can’t see well is that the wrench for installing the bits also has a tiny screwdriver bit on the end for the cutting wheel bit. My ONLY small complaint is that the box with all the bits in it does not stay closed well, be careful taking it out of the box or you’ll spend the next half hour picking up all the tiny pieces that will find every table and chair to roll underneath. If you mount this on your work bench or the wall above it there’s a handy place to hold your bits but it would be better if it had a top on it that can hold the bits in place when moved. A good old rubberband or velcro strap easily fixes the issue but hopefully future versions of the gadget they could add a darned lid for the bit spot.
