The SPEEDMATCH selector on the Orbital Jig Saw improves cut quality by allowing you to match the speed and orbital settings for a wide array of materials. A separate variable-speed dial lets you select between 1100 and 3000 SPM and innovative BladeSaver feature allows access to unused teeth with the adjustable base. The Random Orbit Sander delivers 10,000 orbits per minute (OPM) for a smooth, swirl-free finish on your work surface. Best of all, it is part of the RYOBI ONE+ System of over 175 Cordless Tools that all work on the same battery platform. Backed by the RYOBI 3-Year Manufacturer’s Warranty, this kit includes the 18-Volt ONE+ Orbital Jig Saw includes a wood cutting blade, an Allen wrench, the 18-Volt ONE+ 5 in. This is my second of these sanders, I burned the motor up on the previous one (after 4 years of hard use). I admit that I am probably a cordless tool abuser. Notwithstanding, I have over 20 Ryobi 18V tools in use now. This isn’t the first nor will it me the last Ryobi tool I will destroy (I kill batteries too), I expect that when I purchase a ‘home use tool’ and then use it in a commercial application. I love my Ryobi tools, I couldn’t live without them. The ergonomics with all of their products is much better than some the the much more expensive brands. The convenience of a single battery system is a huge advantage to someone with so many tools in use. This is a good all purpose sander and would probably last a long time in someone else’s shop. If I toast this one, I’ll just buy another one, they are only $44.
