For enhanced precision, a separate variable-speed dial lets you select between 1100 and 3000 strokes per minute and RYOBI’s innovative BladeSaver feature allows access to unused teeth with the adjustable base, extending the blade life. The ONE+ 4-1/2 in. Angle Grinder offers cordless convenience and the power of 6500 RPM for fast and precise work. This tool offers a host of user-friendly features, such as onboard wrench storage, the comfortable GRIPZONE overmold, and a 3-position side handle to help reduce fatigue. The sander itself is ample, and powerful. However, a standard Ryobi battery only lasts a matter of minutes before cutting out. Unfortunately, just shy of a useful duration.

Just bought yesterday. Will be using primary to conquer situations I come across maintaining an old car I’m fond of that is suffering from years of exposure to Vermont winters, so some cutting, not as much grinding, more sanding (I bought a conversion kit with backer and sanding disc’s) I don’t see this tool getting into tight spaces and IT’S HEAVY. I considered the brushless P423 but didn’t want to spend the extra cash. It has somewhat of a smaller profile (not by much) and is lighter. idk, back when I was a homeowner I might have had more occasion to use a tool like this; I hope I can put it to good use for car repairs, body work etc. Incidentally, I saved money buying the P421 and not the more expensive P423 and used the savings to offset the cost of a 2-pack of Ryobi 4 amp hr batteries. I was getting to know this new tool last night and I found the instructions unclear especially as it relates to the use and purpose of the spindle lock button. Overall, what is clear is that the usual Ryobi quality is built into this tool; It has power and I am happy to have it as the newest addition to my collection of Ryobi cordless tools. I’ll be sure to use more than an once of caution until I get to know this tool a little better. Shout out to Chris in the hardware department who helped me to make informed decisions. I appreciate that.

I haven’t used it a lot yet, but I do like it. Of course, the first one I bought, I didn’t think worked correctly and took it back. This doesn’t work like a normal orbital sander, spinning constantly. The description is a bit misleading, in that it references 10k orbits. Called customer service line, and was told that my concern/question was one of the most common they get for this item.
