Definitely worth the price. Used it to cut wire shelving for all the closets in our house. I was able to cut all 4 wire of the shelf in probably about 10 seconds and without the arm strain associated with regular bolt cutters. Cut off 1/4″ bolts that used to hold up railing on our deck with ease as well. Tried it out on various other things like fencing and it worked extremely well. Faster and less work than normal bolt cutters. 2 button operation: top button opens the jaws and the bottom button closes them. After all the cuts (probably around 50) the blade didn’t appear damaged at all, so it seems like it will hold up well. Used a 4 Ah battery and the charge didn’t even go down 1 bar, which was great. Cons: if you need to trim off less than 1/8″ this probably won’t work.

Great bolt cutters. Used them on some heavy 4 and 5 gauge goat fencing panels. They have worked great with no issues and battery life is impressive. Probably made over 500 cuts so far.

Took a few tries to make it work its best but once these 2 Granny’s got used to it it was what we needed. Which was to cut out part of a chain link fence. It got the job done.

A little slow for my work

I bought this ro cut all the wire closet shelving in a 70 unit apartment block. Really saves you from repetetive motion injury. The only criticism of the tool that I have is that the hardened steel jaws work themselves loose and need ro be adjusted closer back together frequently. Orher than that its a great tool for mild steel.I would not use it regularly to cut hardened steel lock hasps as I dont think it is designed to withstand that kind of use.

Fits in a tool box about as well as a good set of manual 14″ bolt cutters, but SO much easier to use. Handles 1/4″ all-thread with no problem, and will take larger. The perfect tool for wire shelving, makes a satisfying “snap” with each cut. Cuts are fast and clean, without metal filings or marks from a walking saw blade. Worth the investment for a big shelving project, and then you’ll have it on hand when needed for the occasional lock removal or other tough job.

These bolt cutters start to approach the level of a toy for me, since the actual places where they would be indispensable are few, but there are a few I can imagine- very tight quarters where long handles would not work, or repetitive applications where they could save some energy. Also, for those that don’t have the strength to operate long handle bolt cutters, this could be a work around.I did have to adjust the jaws, since there was an 1/8″ gap between them, but once I read the instructions that was a very simple turn of the eccentric adjusting bolts, and then they worked perfect.I have been using them mostly to cut concrete reinforcing wire, light duty work for 3/8″ bolt cutters, and only using them off and on (mostly off)for about a week. I’m not sure how they will hold up once I get some heavier bolts to cut, but for now they seem quite good, albeit a little slow. Like other Ryobi products, they seem built to last, and no trouble with battery life.

Cuts hog wire like butta.

I used it to make dozens of cuts in 1/4″ galvanized rod. I cut several cattle panels into tomato cage sides, and it cut right thru the semi-hardened steel. Much easier than manhandling bolt cutters!

works very well

Appears to be strong and well made. I researched this model on Youtube and it should cut just about everything I need cut.

I love Ryobi tools. In Alaska back in the 70’s my wife and I built a timber frame home using a gas powered sawsall from Ryobi and a gas powered skill saw from Honda. I discarded the sawsall a couple of years ago, but it lasted more than 40 yrs. What a tool. So, that is why I like Ryobi.

After waiting 6 months the cutter was finally available to order online. Showed up 3 days after placing my order. Specs show 3/8″ soft materials and 1/4″ harder materials. Problem is it takes multiple cycles to cut through 3/8″ soft materials such as 3/8″ all thread rod. Looked over the very limited manual and it does mention that, but of course it’s not on the literature that is advertised on line.Jaws are about 1/16″ apart from the factory. Time will tell if this was a good buy or an impuse buy.
