This is the 3rd radio/music player I have bought form Ryobi and I love them all. I started with the older model and use it everywhere, especially when I am out in the yard. I purchased the larger stereo style that I mostly use in the garage. I bought this one for my wife because we are often working in different areas and have different tastes in music. I love the portability and the fact that it will also keep my iPod charged while listening. I don’t usually use the radio but when we have a power outage it is handy to keep up with the news.

I bought this mainly so I could have music while I’m working in my shed shop and in the yard. the BT range is pretty solid and 30′ advertised seems accurate. I’ve found that I use this much more than originally planned. taking it camping and on my bass boat because of the size being perfect to fit in the little cubbies in my golf cart.I’m camping between three cities (Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus Ohio) and approximately 50 miles from each of them. I’m able to get station from all three on FM which is impressive to me for such a small unit.Just know what your purchasing. This isn’t a boom box. They sell one of those also for about twice the price. It is loud enough to have on a boat and hear while running full throttle across the lake or in the shed and hear well outside 30′ away. Very happy with it and the value vs. $$$$.

I bought this specific radio for a number of reasons. First, it is relatively small, but has a large enough speaker to have good sound. Second, being small, it should be able to not eat batteries, I got about 11 hours on a small 1.3ah. Thirdly, I wanted something with both radio & BT so it could be used in an emergency, and being able to charge a USB device from it is a bonus.That said, due to my desire for it work in an emergency, a great added feature would be to double as a NOAA “weather radio”.

This works like it’s supposed to. Good reception, sounds great for being small. Easy to use. But what I am most impressed with is the battery life. My wife has been taking this to work so I sent her with a 4ah battery because I knew she’d be using it all day. she came back Monday and the battery was still full. I kept checking everyday and by Friday the battery still had one bar left. 8 hours a day for 5 days with the same battery. Just remember to pull the battery off when not in use.

I bought this and could not be happier. Reading some of the previous reviews I was skeptical but to me they were all wrong. Radio stations come in clear while streaming music from my phone via Bluetooth works great. Would definitely recommend.

Radio works great we had ryobi cordless drill and other things so it was an easy decision.we used the blue tooth works good enough for what it is.we left it in blue tooth mode and by morning the battery(1.5 amp hr) was dead so dont know if leaving it in blue tooth mode killed it when not in use but it was fully charged when we started out.in fm or am mode lasts a long time,days in fact.Its small,light and a good buy in our opinion.It has one usb port so can use to charge a smart phone. The clock works off of 2 aaa batteries so thats a good thing.would recommend.

I am giving this product a 3rd star and recommendation with reluctance. If all you want is a radio, then this is a good solid product. If you expect, as any person logically would, that this appliance will play MP3’s loaded onto a thumbdrive and plugged into the USB port, then you will be sorely disappointed as I was. Ryobi needs to go back to the design drawing board with this product.The staff at Home Depot were exceptionally helpful in trying to diagnose the problem when I returned my Ryobi radio to the store to replace what I believed was a defective product. However, when comparing it to another radio off the shelf, it was clear that none of these radios possess the capability to play songs off a thumbdrive. Three different HD employees all poured over the instructional manual before finally arriving at the conclusion that this radio simply is not equipped to play MP3’s from a thumbdrive. I vacillated between returning the item for a refund and keeping it for its radio capabilities. I settled on the latter, but this design shortcoming does not make me happy. It is too bad since I’ve been very pleased with all the other Ryobi appliances I own (string trimmers, cordless drill, etc).

Sounds great and lasts for several days on one 4.0ah battery. I like the cord to hold your phone. I wish there was a way you could hang it on something though but that’s no big deal.

I originally gave this radio a 1 star. I cannot find that review to change it to a 4 star. After I posted the 1 star post, Ryobi contacted me and replace the item. Taking 1 star away because it did stop working but I realize it happens from time to time so 4 stars it gets. Happy Ryobi user.
