RYOBI introduces the Hybrid Stereo with Bluetooth Wireless Technology. Hybrid functionality means it will never run out of power with the option of powering the stereo with an 18-Volt ONE+ battery or an extension cord (both sold separately). Stream music wirelessly from a Bluetooth enabled device or connect an audio player through its auxiliary port. AM and FM stations can also be tuned in via the digital display. A USB port allows you to charge smartphones, tablets, and other portable devices. Best of all, it is part of the RYOBI ONE+ System of over 175 Cordless Tools that all work on the same battery platform. Backed by the RYOBI 3-Year Manufacturer’s Warranty, this Hybrid Stereo with Bluetooth Wireless Technology includes two AAA alkaline batteries, an aux-in cable, and an operator’s manual. I recommend this radio. It is much better than the smaller and older Ryobi 18 volt radios. This radio has great sound and doesn’t drift or fade away like the smaller Ryobi radios.

I do a lot of work in the yard as well as in the garage and I find that having music make any job seem easier. I have thousands of songs on my iPod and the Hybrid stereo is a great feature. When I am in the yard it is usually right there keeping me company. We are on a large lot and the usually there is no convenient way to plug in a stereo and having the battery is great. And when I am in the garage where AC power is available I can plug in and conserve my battery. The USB outlet is a great feature to keep my iPod from running out of power as well. I don’t often use the radio but when we have power outages (all too often) I can tune in on the radio to keep informed and keep my cell phone charged on the USB outlet.

I just use it for a garage radio. Sound is not very good, not enough highs and flat bass, even adjusted to its best settings. It works on battery or 120v. Don’t expect too much.
