I like ryobi’s system. My older ryobi drill will take the batteries that came with this kit and my new impact driver can use my old battery. It works as expected and is comfortable to use. The chuck doesn’t stick so tool release easily.

Nice upgrade Ryobi made with these new HP series compact drill, like how you can use any Ryobi battery, and how it fits comfortably in you hand. Plenty of power to get the job done, and comes with 2 batteries and bag for storage. Nice safety feature if drill gets hot it will shut down, then take battery out replace it to reset it and back to work.

My son was talked into purchasing this new driver by a few “Ryobi-Ladies” at his store promoting the new product line. I opened it, put a battery pack in place and went outside to finish installing new deck boards. Wow! The speed and power of this little “jewel” of a diver is incredible! It’s almost too powerful, as it buries screws quickly. Also the compact/light weight is great with little or no fatigue, thank you

So I needed a driver in addition to my two Ryobi drills. Actually I have more than 2 drills. Came to the store to buy P238 but somehow they could not find any even though computer says 16 in stock and the lady offered this model PSBID01K for the same price. I am installing new fence and I pre-drilled and countersunk the planks for easy installation. Here is the big problem. This driver PSBID01K runs very fast even if I push the switch a little but then stops as soon as encounters a little resistance. So the screw stopped short of the being flush with the countersink level. Then I pushed the switch again it start acting as a hammer and pushed screw further but it does it so fast that the screw went below the countersink. I tried several times and it is extremely difficult to control. This model PSBID01K maybe OK to drive something that exceeds the torque like bolts that don’t below the surface but certainly not for the fence screws. Even if user doesn’t care how far the screw goes in it is still a time waster since it requires to push the trigger twice. So I went back to the store and returned it and made them to find the P238. As soon as I tried P238 it works perfectly. One single run and the screw is on the level of the countersink using speed control of #1. For this reason alone I would NOT recommend PSBID01K but I would recommend P238.

This is a good drill. Metal parts were replaced with plastic. Magnetic screw holder was replaced with a light. Nose is shorter. Much lighter. Trigger response is a bit slow to start and stop or would have gave it 5 stars.
