I really like the sleek design of this battery powered impact wrench. You must have one of these in your shop just for the Ryobi branding and logos. This wrench has four settings: 1, 2, 3, and A for automatic. In automatic mode this tool would not drive a 5/16 by 2-1/2″ lag bolt into a 2 by 4, but on setting number 3 it works great. I was trying to find the instructions for the 4 settings, but they seem to be shown only on page 9 of the last foreign language section inside the back cover of the instructions. The work light mounted on the battery holder base is a nice feature.

It wasn’t able to remove my lugs from my car or any of the suspension bolts. So little disappointed. But worked good to put stuff back together quicker then by hand

The Ryobi One+ HP brushless cordless impact wrench is a great new tool in an extensive list of Ryobi One+ products. Never owning an impact wrench in the past, I decided to pick this unit up to test it out. Long story short, I’m sorry I never picked up an impact wrench sooner! This impact wrench only comes with the tool and an instruction book, but is compatible with any of the Ryobi One+ batteries you already own. It’s also compatible with any 3/8in ratchet bits. The compact and lightweight design feels great in the hand and provides a long usage without arm fatigue. This impact wrench screams though anything I throw at it. Driving lags into wood, tightening nuts and bolts, even loosening stuck-on and rusted nuts. The tool has a built-in light in the handle, making seeing what you are doing and working both safer and easier. There are also 4 different settings for torque of the wrench. Low, medium, high, and auto. This opens the tool up to a wide variety of use cases. As someone who has never owned an impact wrench, this is a nice upgrade from regular wrenches and my ratchet set. This really helps to save time and energy. Overall, this is a great project, and Ryobi really hit a homerun with this new line!

I made this purchase specifically for my trail vehicle. Wrestling with a lug wrench while trying to change a tire on the trail is now behind me! Every trail rig should be equipped with this must have tool!

I own most of the Ryobi clan of batter operated tool. Wouldn’t do without them. I just bought the 1/2″ impact tool the other day.

Ryobi makes good tools for home use. My very first belt sander was a Ryobi and same with router…both lasted a good amount of time justifying their costs. This 3/8 inch impact wrench should as well. It is not meant for extreme impacting as it is only 3/8″, but it does handle stuff you wold normally use a 3/8″ ratchet for quite well. Holds the sockets real well too. I have used it for a few tougher bolts to loosen as a test and it worked well. A very nice compacted size to fit between your 1/4″ and 1/2″ impact wrenches.

Was hoping with the brushless technology this would bring it up to par with some of the better offerings out there. It’s rated at 160 ft/lbs but barely takes off lugs nuts off a UTV torqued to 80 ft/lbs. Tried on my Jeep with lugs torqued to 125 ft/lbs and didn’t even come close. Obviously there is 1/2″ impacts that are better for this but if it’s rated at 160lbs I would expect it to come close. I’ve tried bolts at various ratings and it struggles at anything above 90 ft/lbs whereas I’ve seen both Milwaukee or even Ridgid have far less trouble. My main reason for purchasing was because I have pretty much 1/2 the Ryobi catalog and countless batteries but both the impacts I have from them leave some to be desired. Pretty surprised by most the ratings on this so far as people either aren’t concerned about the TQ rating or aren’t truly putting in to the test.

Fits in those tighter spots especially when working on the car. The variable speed option is also a nice touch.

Works good for the price. Be nice if it had a little more torque. Used it a few times already.

I have had quite a few Ryobi tools over the last 20 years I have been very happy with them. They seem to last forever I still use my other impact gun and drill. . This is a brushless 3/8 drive impact gun. It comes with a gun only. No problem I have several Ryobi batteries which are compatible with all of their tools. I like that they didn’t change the batteries over the years. I just had to get a new charger for the lithium batteries. The newer lithium works in my old guns that were nicad. It has a hole for a belt clip but you have to purchase it separately. It has plenty of power tor remove and tighten nuts and bolts. I am very happy with it I recommend it.

I was excited when Ryobi brought out the compact line; their tools have gotten far better, but some of them were a bit big and heavy compared to the other brands. These are light and compact, they feel great and fit where you need them to. But they are short on power. Being the same company as Milwaukee and Ridged, they have the technology to make these smaller motors with gobs of power, but they didn’t. I feel that they missed the bar in that respect. Having said, I really enjoy them as a “side arm” to carry and run screws with. But they don’t have the guts for heavy work.

Has more power than I expected. I would recommend using with at least a 6.0AH battery.

To be honest I haven’t used it yet as I purchased it for future use because it was on sale. I have a large collection of Ryobi one 18v tools and all of them have done the job with no problems. I hardly ever use my corded or air tools anymore because my cordless Ryobi tools are so much easier to use and get the job done without dragging hoses or cords out.I already have a Ryobi 1/2 inch impact that I use regularly so I decided to buy this one for the smaller jobs and tight places.
